Try playing hd1 where the resupply is a stratagem that someone has to choose and use a strat slot on hehe

While I have a lot of problems as well, I feel it fits the vibe. It's not a power fantasy, it's a powerless fantasy.
Nothing powerless about helldivers. The amount of slaughter an individual can bring to the fight is on the order of ridiculous. The game is most definitely a power fantasy, it even has powerful abilities on a classical hero shooter cooldown system, but it is all done in a way where the player is still somewhat squishy so the game doesn't get stale.

It really is a function of stupid trooper syndrome if you can't look beyond your primary rifle.

If this was IRL .. where would you stash that armor to go BRRR?

Indeed. In real life, the extra heat sinks for my laser rifle are very heavy. I can only carry 3 before my pockets start tearing at the seams. That's why when I go shooting alien bugs in real life, I bring my lighting gun with me. That has infinite ammo. Sure glad we invented free energy.

Ammo is everywhere on the map., every POI has ammo.

You can call in free ammo from space.
If you want to go extra brrr brr. get supply backpack for extra brrr. brrr

Maybe there will be an armor perk in the future for even more extra ammo brr brr =)

Unless you play with a premade team of people you know, its a very, very bad idea not to have AT weapons yourself. You have no clue how good other people are or even if they decide to help you at all. I only play with randoms since when I get home from work, I just want to grab a beer and crank 2-3 games.

Also, yes, I have infinite ammo guns in game, the devs decided to nerf the one I was using, guess why I am making this post?! If that one had to much ammo, revert the change, at least by 1-2 mags and increase all other weapons to be more equal.

I play 7s and 8s with pugs almost exclusively, it is extremely rare to see 4 or even 3 people pick AT.

Some pick EAT together with anti-chaff support weapon and call it when needed, but vast majority of teams I played with its 2 AT weapons and 2 anti swarm weapons.

And since that happens on 7s and 8s, that means you play below that, where people are bad, because going into 9 with only AT is a suicide by chaff.

Yes, playing with pugs means sometimes you'll have good team, sometimes bad and will fail.
That still does not mean you should go with below optimal setup on 7s and 8s.

Lastly, in regards to infinite ammo guns, if you have ever run out of mags for your infinite ammo gun, you didn't knew how to use your infinite ammo gun properly. I rarely ever needed to reload sickle more than one, at most twice at 8, how often do you do that at 6 and below, because from your own description of team mates against my experience between 6 and 9, you play exclusively at 6 or lower.

I only play 7 and above, just against the bugs, don't like robots. Never had issues with the small bugs, those I and other people I see take them out with regular weapons, the big boys are the problem and thus, anti armor stuff. Perhaps that is also why I run out of ammo on my sickle most of the time and have to use secondary also and no, waiting for the weapon to cool is not going to happen in most cases, I dump the secondary mag and hope its cool enough to get back to shooting, this is not going to work every time.

You have 179 hours logged and are missing some pretty simple achievements. Judging by those it looks like you rarely play well with others.

6 mags is pretty standard, at least in the UK army, 4 clips per ammo pouch,

I wasn't aware that UK troops used WW2 rifles...clips aren't magazines! :steamsad:

You can leave position at any time with bugs, provided you prioritize Hunters.

The floppy bunnies are what kills you, not the big bois.
As long as you've cleared every hunter in your vicinity you can run. Not even necessarily away from the other bugs, you can even run in between them and come out the other side (be mindful of scavengers' hitboxes tho, they can block you despite being floor crawlers just as well as a warrior, if you're stuck look down).

The very single bug that can deal with mobility (because they basically lock onto you with the leap) are hunters. The warriors will try to sidestep as you walk right past them instead of attacking, making it particularly comical, and even if they do you can dive and dodge with no issue.

Overall the only real threats to manage with bugs are Hunters, Bile Spewers and Stalkers.
Warriors are trash, broodlords tunnel you same as chargers, titans can be outran or made useless by walking under them. Flyers will miss you 99% of the time if you don't stand still (you can even go prone if allowed by the ground bugs to make yourself literally immune to the flyers).
Spewers are only dangerous because they don't make distinct sounds and can oneshot you through objects with that stupid vomit. Should they ever fix that they'd be easily manageable as well.

Kill the bunnies, if you do that you can easily manage the rest.

Those guys spiting acid can 1 shoot you, the titans can 1 shoot you and the chargers are what makes it difficulty to focus on the rest. The hunter I can kill quite well by funneling them around a corner, now when the big boys are also present, is when it gets complicated. Hunters can't leap to you if you block line of sight. Funneling around objects works great, at least for me. Now focusing down the hunters as the other big guys are coming for you and spiting, charging and what not, its what complicated thing for me. I don't remember the last time I died to JUST any small bugh.
The running is what got me to drop from Helldive, running in circles is not fun. Currently playing on 7.
I would say right now the most annoying and hard bug is the stalker, but that's just me.
