Is this game worth it?
I've heard a lot of good things about this game but now I'm hearing is optimised poorly and full of bugs and the player base is very low, I don't know if I should get it or not?

The game is picky, I will say it's good but not "friendly" for players not got iron spirit.

I hope you can decide it instead of heard something, but to me it's good.

To me the good news is no PSN for now, and I guess you can test it, like it then stay with us and do our parts, or refund it.

It is somewhat poorly optimized but really the bugs come down to how unlucky you are, player base shouldn't really change your decision on this game.

There are bugs, but some people aren't as affected as others. The game has enough content to keep you busy for maybe 100-200h, and maybe more as new content/missions/warbonds release. Overall, it's a good game, fun to play, and does a fantastic job evolving shooter gameplay with stuff like weapon handling, recoil, positioning, etc.

yes full stop

I dont know, man. The game has a ton of negative reviews from people that have invested 300+ hours into the game and they didn't get their €40 experience.

Definately worth!

The game is fun. The people complaining about player count are just trolls trying to make the game look dead. They'll pick player counts from about midnight EST on a Wednesday, and they'll only count steam players, and even at that time the numbers are still in the 40k range people online, with it easily being over 100k during more peak times.
Yes there are bugs. Usually not game breaking bugs, but some updates do introduce some pretty game breaking ones(Like recently game crashing when opening the social menu), that get hotfixed generally pretty quick.
As for optimised, there are three types of people that complain about that
1)People that track their FPS in real time and think a dip from 150 to 140 or 70 to 60 is a problem, even though they would not have physically noticed that if they did not have a counter displaying their FPS for them.
2)People that have either potatoes or laptops and think they should perform like a $3,000 Desktop and run everything at 150+FPS and if they don't then it's the games fault.
3)People that are legitimately getting some issues because sometimes new updates break something.

Optimization is 2024 optimization which is not good, not bad but you can manage.
Player base currently is 40k on PC + 23k on PS5. Rarely does it take more than 10 seconds to find a team.

You can get anything in the game for free, the warbonds can be bought with in-game currency and even if you don't get any you can still enjoy the game with the weapons available to you fo $40.
PSN link is not required.
Latest patch is one of many aimed at making the game play better and be less restrictive on weapon use. A lot of weapons that were bad are now good and stratagems that were never used now have a good function and are viable/good.
The community globally is bad, most forum topics are inspired to make you hate the game, the devs, the community and yourself but in-game I have had only a could of instances where someone was being malicious either with kicking me without any reason or killing the team purposely.

Can't really recommend due to countries still not being listed back so instead I gave you information on your questions.

I'd say it's not worth it at the moment, hopefully will be in the future though. Admittedly part of it is how many games worth playing exist by this point. Due to the tons of bugs and glitches, it's not straight up bad, but I'd say Helldivers is mediocre at the moment, and there's tons of good games that came out in the last 30 years or so that are more worthwhile.

There was a golden period where the crashes and bugs were low and the fun was high, but right now I couldn't recommend it. Hoping it changes for the better.

Mhhh.
I'd say yes.

Is it optimized poorly? Define poorly. I'm running it on a 3080 and with an pretty ancient i7-9700, and it runns perfectly fine.

Full of bugs?
Eh. You disconnect somtimes, and sometimes the game freezes or crashes. More often you get stuck in the ground (but ususaly you can freee yourself with a grenade). And sometimes you cant reinforce people...
So yeah, there are some bugs, but nothing gamebreaking.

Playerbase?
Its currently ranked 31st on steam by player count, and thats not counting in the peasents.
Playerbase is huge.

I'd say wait. The game isn't in a very good place right now and everything is sort of on fire. Crashes and disconnects are incredibly common, and the number of game breaking bugs you'll find in a single game is astronomical. Patches have been very low quality even including this most recent one which the entire community has collectively proclaimed to be the divine patch of all time. Waiting to see what the next one will be like, to see if that mediocre patch was just a special exception and they go back to their incompetent ways, or if it was a precursor to better patches.

Its fun yes BUT on top of the $40 price tag- there is $50 of weapons and few cosmetics to unlock at this time. Everyone is using the "Warbond" [Battlepass] weapons in every match I play, so be ready to grind or pay for these micro transactions to experience everything the game has to offer. Also be aware that the track record thus far has been about a $10/month Warbond, so expect tons-literally tons of grinding for maybe 10-20 SuperCredits [Premium currency] if you're lucky and each Pass is 1000 SC.
The game is fun, better with friends of course but I do warn of what I see as an extremely greedy monetization scheme.

It's more close to $110 at this point with all the stuff in the super store (a lot of it is indeed unique for the armor rank/perk combination).

To be fair I have everything with some of them free from collecting credits in game and I use everything almost between matches and enjoy them.
