Everything else is for gameplay purposes, i think it would be annoying if you lose your levels and have to unlock everything again each time you die
I can see that
Same animation plays when you join another player's super destroyer
So i guess probably returned back to a cryopod they stepped out from
All I can suggest is don't dwell on it too much or take it too seriously. As far as I'm concerned we're immortal souls getting transplanted into a new body each time. That's why we're Hell-divers, cause we die and go to hell only to get yanked back up.
It's a weak explanation, but this has probably already crossed into overthinking.
So the ship/crew probably just pop you out with whatever you deemed important to the mission at that time (which would explain the armors and loadout, etc).
The goal of the destroyer/ship crew/Super Earth is to send you down to harvest E-710 efficiently and on a budget. Individual helldivers might as well just be assault rifle bullets.
The way i view it is, the captain (you) has selected the optimal equipment for this mission and all HD grab the chosen loadout before they drop.
Nope just a new soldier who got out of training
Personally I am okay with the rhetoric and satire there but I really prefer the headcannon that each Helldiver is taking on clone bodies and the superdestroyer with the original Helldiver's mind aboard is basically each player's protagonist. It still maintains the cheapness of life theme but also shows that Super-Earth is willing to use basically immortality technology to wage endless wars. Also, I like playing games with a singular protag so that's generally the route i find more intriguing.
