It has good ammo economy and will last a while. The thing is though unless you can put it on a cheap spot overlooking the action where bugs can't reach it, it will probably need to be defended. People generally don't defend sentries adequately, or they assume all sentries are like the gatling and will chew through all their ammo holding off enemies until they run out instead of getting destroyed.
So on 9, people aren't going to see much value in sentries except maybe autocannon because they need to stay still and defend them and already not be chased by a bunch of heavies trying to kill them. It's definitely usable, but it takes too much player input from most people for them to use it. I still love it though, it's my favorite sentry. Surprising amount of firepower over time.
Killed me several times...
Fewer missile per volley make the sentry more accurate and feel like it actually shot faster.
