It's most likely a Flame-thrower or Arc-thrower that wasn't loaded properly into your instance of the zone/game. (this can happen to your own call down equipment)

When I see those I validate game files. They can lead to some pretty odd bugs and glitches like unresponsive control panels. I've even seen some peoples equipment become unusable to them and they said it became a purple ?

The purple question marks are there for content that didn't load.
The latest patch has a lot of missing content. One of the planets has them all over it. The bug missions have "jets" in the air that are supposed to be structures.

They just somehow didn't ship all of the assets with the patch...
