Mines or children... I am appalled.
So this latest Major Order seems to be laughing at morality itself, making us choose between anti-tank mines or saving children's lives.

This is ridiculous, stupid, and pathetic. it's the kind of Major Order that validates those IRL who shriek "GUN-BASED VIDEO GAMES ARE EVIL AND CAUSE REAL-WORLD VIOLENCE! BAN ALL VIDEO GAMES WITH GUNS IMMEDIATELY!"

It is sadistic and cruel of the developers to force us to choose in this manner. Especially when the truth is, both of these are pathetically useless. Mines are rarely carried and will likely never be used by anyone who can actually carry them. Kids are just as useless in a firefight unless Super Earth has some rapid-growth tech we don't know about.

This boils down to being purely a morality-based decision. Neither will result in anything useful for the gameplay.

Troll confirmed.

the problem is that we have to look at it from the helldiver's point of view

people who are mostly 18 years old and sacrifice their lives for their homeland no matter what happens.

if super earth said that we had to shoot at civilians, the helldivers would do the same because that's how they were brought up (propaganda).

a helldiver would therefore have to decide whether it's worth getting new mines not just for himself but for the whole SEAF in order to be able to better protect people or to save civilians. It was said before that if we had had the mines, the bots might not have got so far to penetrate new systems and set up bases there.

not only the SEAF but we too benefit from the

mines

but since it's just a game, we shouldn't compare real world politics with the game anyway

So i ask you was it ok to let us die on the creek alone, with no help

Basic human morality does not qualify as political satire. Whether you have morals or not, does not depend on political affiliation.

This Major Order might count as terrorism though.

aye, check this out.
1 "This is ridiculous, stupid, and pathetic. it's the kind of Major Order that validates those IRL [further dribbling]" - Bro living in 2009, debatably but not really.
2 "It is sadistic and cruel of the developers to force us to choose in this manner." - Nah, it fits entirely with the themes of the game + not really "forced"
3 "Especially when the truth is, both of these are pathetically useless" - One serves the story, the other serves practical combat use even if niche; niche is not equal to useless.
4 "This boils down to being purely a morality-based decision." - That's the point.
5 "Neither will result in anything useful for the gameplay." see 3.
Very cool how I refreshed and the "islamic state" part of that rambling was edited out too
adding 6 This literally just boils down to looking too deep into an otherwise surface-level part of the story. Nevermind the illuminate or Super Earth's 'democracy that isnt really a democracy', apparently this is the deepest thing in the game.

Again, basic human morality does not qualify as political satire. Whether you have morals or not, does not depend on political affiliation. So your No. 2 is disproven right off the bat.

This is not politics-driven. It is morality driven. Therefore it does not fit with the theme of the game.

A: It does though
B: Political Satire is not limited to "affiliation"; personal or otherwise
C: ???
D: It sounds more like you personally have an issue with assumptions you've made based on a microscopic piece of the story, rather than you understand; the game, the game's story, the game's purpose, the story's purpose, and everything surrounding those listed. <3
In other news, I've been convinced! I'm pivoting from children to the anti-tank mines. Why? It's funny. It says nothing about the game, the story, me personally, nor the objective itself. It's a game with a dynamic story, and I'm now interested more than before to see what prioritizing the mines entails.

The thing is that the mines will always come back, unlike the children

deranged babbling usually ends that way, if not it just leads to more deranged babbling.
