I wonder what the current armor rating is, though. Is all armor medium? Or is there 0 armor and we might see the game get easier once it's fixed? It's a mystery
Armors are treated ar Light, so if you get some explosive resistance it wont matter thanks to the low armor value, so im guessing it´s going light armor for the speed, or the armor that gives you 50% to not die
Oh my god the amount of times I or someone else with fortified armor barely survives "360 no-scope rocket past the bare pixel edge of the boulder or objectives computer you were both behind", while the light scout next to us is reduced to paste.
Hell I have even survived the occasional sniper turret shot!... sends me flying 700 feet to fall damage to death, but it counts!
(Stealth as a core concept is fine. People mistaking "LIGHT ARMOR MAKES ME META BECAUSE HEAVY ARMOR FOR IDIOTS!" as skill tend to suffer when the game cheats around the stealth bonus on scout perk. All of the most successful solo players seem to understand this.)
its ... ok. but id much rather have some defense and combine that with jump pack for quick burst of mobility.
You are not wrong about fortified, IMO. you are going to see the personal shield fall out of favor with a lot of people once heavy armor is working and you take heavy fortified armor. I suspect its going to make dealing with bots a lot better.
I think the strategy is going to be, heavy armor for bots, light for bugs, and medium can go either way.
I expect shield will remain popular because even if I hardly use it yet, apparently it also prevents constant "I got slowed down if the enemy so much as tickles me" issues.
Honestly the bigger concerns once armor stat is fixed are-
A: The devs don't go "Teehee it acid spit ignores armor anyways, very lore friendly"
B: The devs don't do the usual 'modern games catering to people who THINK they are oldschool hardcore gamers' bait and switch. Where they brag about fixing something worthless, but gosh they just had to preemptively nerf three other things and also buff the enemies or the thing that was literally worthless before might be overpowered.
