The game has serious optimisation problems (input lag fix)
I've been doing some tweaking around, because I've been getting ABYSMAL input lag (my character would keep walking for several seconds after input) - there's a reddit thread full of people saying it's the servers, but I didn't think so:

640x480 + ultra performance (lowest setting), all graphical settings set to low- 100% cpu, unrelenting stuttering, GPU is taking a smokebreak in the corner of my PC, at 40% load we can assume all it's doing is playing with its' cobaltite balls;

1920x1080 + supersampling + medium/high details - I suddenly have a stable FPS! Something is seriously wrong with this. Supersampling (and above) diverts the load to the GPU, my CPU is suddenly at 50-60% and GPU at 85-95%, making the game actually playable.

Probably hardware based but this is weird as hell.

You do know that certain high end gpus don't like being throttled down so much right? They actually run better when being utilized more

I somehow didn't have that problem with 200+ other games I played in the last four years. You can set it up to ultra and keep "quality" display scaling and it'll still choke.

amd CPU?

if so try enabeling eco mode.

The exact thing you did by lowering all graphics settings was take away the load from the GPU and put the maximum load possible on the CPU instead.

Anyway other than that, I'm also having performance issues, one day I'll boot up and get 70-90 stable fps and the next I'm barely getting 50 with massive stuttering.

Nah, it's an Intel.

And yes, I understand I just offloaded it to the CPU, but it's kinda stupid that's how it works. Even now I'm getting suboptimal FPS in comparison to other games that look as good and calculate as much physics. (Although I have no way to establish what calculations are being done, there might be some spaghetti behind it, I am also aware this point is entirely anecdotal)
