Does anyone understand the SPEAR Launcher?

I don't get it, when it's loggin on a target or not. Sometimes it does immidiately, sometimes not at all. Is it bugged? I don't get it...

I think it's pretty bugged. The target needs to be fairly big to even start locking on, and the line of sight needs to be completely clear, like not obscured at all by wire fence or small rocks, and even then it's a crapshoot.

When it does work you can snipe factories with it. I hope they can do something to make it more reliable or at least give feedback. Maybe let you lock onto your own ping or something.

Yeah you need it to generally be clear line of sight, and not having tons of stuff near by to confuse it helps. If it doesn't start the lock on, I usually change position. If it starts the lock on but doesn't complete it, backing out or doing small adjustments some times help.

You can some times get a lock on though, even with stuff in the way. I have hit like a satellite dish or the edge of a cliff before.

Nah. For example I stood once right in front of a tin can turret tower (maybe 20m) and it won't lock on at all. I tried all angles. Nothing.
