Rocky launch, but better than Jedi Survivor for me. At least I COULD play HD2 every so often and I could never play Jedi Survivor past the title screen.
Then of course, they threw EVERY resource they had into fixing the server issues, so everything else was delayed. Bug fixes and crashes got looked at if they were bad, but the servers took priority. Additional content took a backseat to making sure people could play the game they paid for.
Now? They can focus on making all the other content available. I look forward to seeing what the Game Master system they have talked about does.
if anything, the server issues were caused by so many AAA games being garbage nowadays, so people flocked like never before.
To top it off, it's a Live Service Game.
They're intentionally designed to deliver content and maintain player retention/interest over time—it's also not a single player, it's a multiplayer platform.
We already have The Illuminate alien faction coming as a returning enemy.
Sure feels like a Early Access title though even though its not supposed to be one. As for "people can play" I mean yeah you can get in, but match making is broken 90% of the time, many other game features are disabled/broken as well, I mean sure you can get in, but the actual gameplay expeirence is rather garbage due to non-working VITAL features in a game like this. I'd rather them lower the server cap to the point that match making always works, I don't mind a wait to get in, but when I do get in, I'd like vital features to this sort of game like match making to be working perfectly. I do got friends to play with, they just work and such, so its hard for all of us to meet up.
I dunno, I feel Palworld has far more content than HD2 does and it IS a early access game. At least my gametime on Palworld is higher than HD2 and I still have lots of stuff I could do in palworld, where as HD2 is basically dead for me since lv 27 or so as most of the stuff has no use anymore. Don't need req anymore, I am at 14/18 ship modules, there is really nothing else of value to unlock in the warbonds for me atm either I got all the useful stuff. I basically only login when friends drag me into it as while the game IS fun, it doesn't really feel like it values the players time at the point I am at. I mean I don't care about req, or samples, or medals really at this point. I'd rather play something else thats also fun and values my time better. game being just "fun" is not enough for me, it has to feel like my time wasn't wasted, and HD2 has lost that feeling due to a severe lack of progression. It just ends way to soon for even a live service game.
Genuine answer.
Calling yourself "Scamdiver" and chucking "genuine question" on the end of your post.
No matter how loud people scream, how many insults get thrown or how many people get banned for silly and stupid remarks, changing someone's feelings is not going happen online. You have your opinion and I have mine.
For Valve though? This is not an Early Access title. The gameplay is fully defined, if underdeveloped at the moment. Server capacity issues aside, this game is as fully fleshed out as Helldivers 1 was. That is not good enough for lots of people and I have no problem with people saying such.
Maybe I am too patient, but I don't see a point in demanding things be FREE, PERFECT AND NOW when it simply cannot happen. That does not happen in real life. Work costs money, takes time and rarely works out right the VERY first time. They JUST got the server issues resolved for the most part, I will give them a bit to add more stuff and fix things before I cast judgement on a game that I still find fun. If you don't, no big deal. it is a video game, not someone's life at stake.
And, just saying- I STILL cannot play Jedi Survivor on Steam. Every time I try, crash to desktop. To say I am mad at EA is a MASSIVE understatement. I do not tolerate much when it comes to crappy devs taking my money and running like they did.
that sounds incredibly depressing if "this" is it lmao
