Does noise and stratagems attract groups of enemies?
I begin to wonder if the whole gun firing and bombings attract hordes of enemies.
One such example as clearing out a huge outpost of automatons. More and more patrols keep coming at our directions.
It's almost endless so we retreated cause we're losing so much men. :Caveling_Skull:

Another example of bugs keep coming at our extracting point. waves and waves of hunters keep popping up and we're trying to extract.
Oh and there's bot drops and bug breaches from time to time sooo double the trouble.

Still. We made out it out as usual but man that was rough even on level 5 difficult.
And again I always had that in mind.
Does noise and stratagems attract attention? :GhostScared:

yes absolutely, they drop a marker for patrols to investigate every time you're spotted, every time they hear a noise, and every time they see an orbital light.

it's the same AI system as in metal gear solid v more or less.

Strategems attract them, objectives do not. It is entirely possible to do an entire objective with every guard still active, even on Helldive; I've done it.

Enemies have a two-stage alert system, basically 'Cautious' and 'Alerted'. If an enemy hears a gunshot (very) nearby or if they see you briefly, they'll react by going into Cautious mode. This is what the red scanning lines from the bots is, and what the bugs are doing when they rear up onto their back legs and make aggravated noises. If you back away and remain unseen at this point, they'll lose interest and go back to what they were doing.

Firing again/multiple times or being within their vision radius for long enough while they're in Caution mode will make them go into Alert, which is when they start trying to kill you and calling for reinforcements. They do have vision cones and you can sneak around behind them. Just don't sprint or mantle/jump/fall down from anything, as this seems to create an extremely large amount of 'noise' for some reason.

You can actually usually pick enemies off without their friends reacting if you're using a long range gun like the DMR. It's not 100% reliable, but it USUALLY works. If they start running around, just wait for a minute; you're not made until they start firing. Try to only shoot ones that can't be seen dying by their friends, as if they actively SEE one of their friends heads explode, they seem to aggro to you regardless a lot and sound the alarm. Also, one-shot weapons are obviously preferred; if an enemy lives more than about half a second, he tells his friends. Plus, repeated weapon shots will blow your cover anyway.

I THINK if you're using your sidearm it's quieter than your main gun, too. I sometimes switch to the revolver when I'm infiltrating somewhere just because it still has big single-shot damage, but seems to be quieter than the DMR.

Enemies just straight up spawn on top of the extract. You can actually 100% still extract without being caught and without firing a single bullet, but it's much more difficult. Scout armour is literally mandatory, as far as I can tell.

Yes, the partols in the area will start slow-walking toward the area where it occured. Which can pile up fast. In essence, staying in one spot for very long after you started blasting can get bad.
Extraction is a bit different, because I'm pretty sure enemies will start spawning nearby once you start no matter what you do.

noise don't attract anything you but enemies will be notified of your (last known) position if you used an offensive stratagem or shoot at their direction. Go prone make you much less visible (certain armor makes you basically invisible in prone stance) so you should definitely go prone if you want to avoid fighting.
