"Failed to join game lobby"

as the title would suggest I have been getting this problem whenever I try to join anything. I'm not able to join games with random people or my friends, can't join my friend's squad and they can't join my squad or games. Is anyone else having this issue? Even better, does anyone have a fix?

Try disabling Crossplay (gameplay in options) and restarting then spamming the join button. It worked for myself and a friend on Friday.

I have been wondering if it is because there is a fair amount of players who are not on the same patch version. I have no clue how console players update their game but I know for sure that you can stay connected even if a new patch dropped after you connected to the server.

I get this problem mostly shortly after a patch.

my friend and i both turned off crossplay, restarted our games. restarted our computers, everything. I'll try spamming the join button and come back with more info.

Alternatively, join the official Discord and find people to add to your friend list there instead.

I have had this issue for three days now. I can solo helldives so its not a server connection issue. Unsure what happened

Maybe the host has cross play turned off and your friend is in their lobby

I have restarted my computer idk how many times, verified files, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, I have turned crossplay off, I have tried during non-peak hours, and none of it has worked. I can't join friends, friends can't join me, and nobody joins my SOS signals.

I can still solo hell dive so I don't know what is wrong or what to try.

You and me both. Hopefully we can play in a few days but atm for me the game is completely broken.

I'm glad that I'm not the only person experiencing this! I did literally everything (restarting the game, verifying game files, updating the drive, literally EVERYTHING) to try and fix the problem.
I think it's probably a patch issue, so we might just have to wait until the devs fix it :/

I, too, am having issues like this. I seem to be able to host random players in my lobby, but when it comes to joining/inviting my friends, the game will error out. Tried all kinds of permutations with enabling/disabling crossplay and lobby publicity, verified game files, and joining through steam with the game closed. But I've had no luck.

Something that was noted is when I'm bugged, my status isn't being reported correctly in the Socials window. I'd be by myself, yet friends say I'm showing as 2/4 (and even 4/4 once, immediately after I restarted the game) when they try to join through the game.

The behavior I'm seeing is if I try to join through the Social window, it's an instant fail, but if I try to join through Steam it goes through the downloading and syncing process before failing. Makes me suspect something's just borked with their matchmaking.

Yeah I've noticed that too. It at least "attempts" when trying to join through steam.

I had this issue yesterday. I had to drop in solo and after the mission, I was able to join quick play / join my friend lobbies again. Don't know if that's the fix but maybe try it.
