Host should NOT be able to kick people mid-game without a vote

I just spent 30 minutes carrying 2 players on 8 - Impossible difficulty. They were on Playstation.

Got kicked in the middle of the extraction phase after carrying them. How the hell is this allowed? These people should be banned for griefing and this feature should be disabled. How you gonna let people kick mid game??? Whoever didn't think how open to abuse this would be is absolutely insane... At the very least they should be getting their reward massively reduced if they do this

I was slaughtering the Titans left and right by myself and despite that STILL somehow reaching objectives first. These guys were walking around doing nothing and now I get nothing from the mission and they'll get full credit for the mission + medals + xp . What a joke. AND they'll get to unlock difficulty 9 while I have to start over again and do 3 more missions.

If it sounds like I'm pissed, it's because I am. What idiot decided giving the host the option to kick mid game is a good idea? Unless I'm AFK-ing or griefing, of course. But then vote on it at least or check for activity or team kill numbers.

Since some people didn't get this, I wanna be absolutely clear - the issue is they waited 30 min to kick. If they thought I'm doing objectives too fast, they could have:
a) said something
b) kicked me 2 minutes in rather than 30 when we're already extracting and they gain nothing from kicking me (at this point, it's just a grief)

Devs could either make this something you have to vote on (even if only host can initiate votes so his lobby is not taken over) OR at least give partial rewards still if you're kicked OR the rest of the lobby lose the samples that were on you when you got kicked.

I'm no game designer, so I'm sure you or the game devs could think of an even better solution than the above. But the current one is certainly not it. You shouldn't be spending 30 minutes trying to clear the mission, when you're finally done you get kicked and lose everything. The game will quickly devolve into trolling, griefing and toxicity if this is not addressed imo.

Making my own lobby will work for me for the near future, but it's not a permanent or good solution. That's just avoiding an entire feature because it's poorly implemented.

You know chat exists right? They could just say something. I went for objectives because they weren't doing it. What am I supposed to do, wait around and ♥♥♥♥ around? I'm playing the game. And besides, is this seriously justification for kicking someone when extracting? Or for the game even allowing it in the first place? They could have kicked me before I did the objectives then. No, they waited until extraction in order to inflict maximum damage.

This is griefing. Plain and simple.

If a kick option must exist in the middle of the game, it should
1) Require a vote
2) Do a check for TK/afk, etc

I think it should be day limit for kicking players. 3-5 times. So host will be able to kick some bad persons, if he meets one (wich is rare, i didn't see any for 100+ hrs). But he won't be able to do this all the time to harm other players or because he didn't think of making the game private.

If you want to do that, run your own lobby. When you join someone, you are surrendering your "squad leader" position, unless you get asked to lead.

Granted, I don't kick people unless they refuse to listen after I've asked them to stick together a couple times.

It could be that squad only wants the super samples, main objectives, then getting out. You running around and riling up other ♥♥♥♥ could have pissed them off.


All that being said, yes kicking should require a vote as it seems certain people kick others just to piss them off, which is moronic.

My thoughts exactly, just the way he talks, “These losers” “I was carrying” if he didn’t deserve the kick then, he does now. Guy complains here making himself sound like a total db. I don’t like the the idea you can just kick whoever wherever, should have a vote system in place at least. Because there are Dbs like this guy that will probably just ruin your fun. And really sounds like he was being one.

But I’d admit if I were wrong and just venting here, unless I see video of it, I’m going to assume he was just being a db lol

10 minutes into a mission, disable kick
Extraction, disable kick

In Deep Rock Galactic you can't kick anyone after calling the extraction pod.
The risk of trolls calling it too early is still there, the risk of host-trolls kicking right before it is still there, but it's a good compromise

You joined their game, you chose to select another persons lobby and joined it, then didn't follow that persons lead. Its totally fine if you don't want to follow, but start your own lobby

Im just going to assume you are giving a very one-sided recounting of this mission, making yourself sound like the Chad to stroke your ego. I bet they were playing the mission their own way and you just decided to be a rogue and ruin their game.

When I want to play my way I start my own lobby. If I join someone else's lobby I stick with the guy with a 1 on his name and follow his lead, because its his game.

Come back when you met those griefer that kick you for fun, it's not isolated incident hence people are complaining here and in discord and the dev is aware of it.. and they said "WORKING on IT"

DIsabling kick upon calling for extraction sound like the best idea.
If they havent been kicked in the 1st few minutes they shouldnt be punished after putting in all that time and effort.
