make push to talk the only voice chat setting
I've had to mute a good number of people who don't have voice chat set to push to talk. It's distracting and annoying as hell when some dude has his VC set to always on and you can hear them stuffing their faces with chips or cheetos, their TV blaring in the background, or their keyboard clattering loudly.

Agreed

It’s really annoying when someone comes on I hear them chewing slop straight into the mic and clearing their throat constantly

PTT isn't possible on controller. Very typical forumer behavior to ♥♥♥♥♥ about it here rather than telling the guy in game yourself or just muting and calling it a day.

Agreed. Or at the VERY least give us a quicker way to mute the mouthbreathers out there.

Honestly didn't know that. My point still stands about forumers being antisocial passive agressive snobs though.

Though I do agree, it would be nice if the default setting was set to push to talk, I do wonder about the console players since they don't have that option. Really though it's not really that big of a deal, I told this one console gamer that was overloading his mic because he apparently just had to have an argument live with his GF while he was playing. He quickly muted his mic after that lol.

You have a mute button OP

Why is it that for everyone thread full of "Buy a headset that costs more than five dollars" tears", are full of suggestions that make spending more than five dollars on a headset with a flip up mic to mute function and better filters pointless?
Default should be PTT.

I know the game goes through a setup screen where you can change this, but the first and already selected option is always on mic. This undoubtedly causes loads of people to think its the suggested option, or just fail to change it to something more sensible.

Not wanting to hear people loudly chew potato chips and smack their lips makes you antisocial?

No sweetie, crying about it on forums instead of telling the guy in game with your own mic or just muting him and calling it a day is antisocial behavior.

Is it really that weird? Any normal person would just be mildly annoyed in the moment and quickly just mute the guy. Most people wouldn't open a thread about it.

What?

This is a forum...we are discussing people spamming their mics.

How many replies deep do you need to get to become ironic?
(not that many, actually)
