I wouldn't go so far as they do kill a lot of bugs and are very useful, especially if you're solo or team of two, essentially having 2 primaries firing for free makes a big difference, the problem is that it often goes hilariously wrong.
Considering how much those annoying bugs swarm, you can't be expected to take out every single little sh*t that's trying to nibble at your ankles and so I don't think this is one of those "skill issue" moments. Just because I didn't see a tiny bug crawl up on me doesn't mean I should get melted by 2 laser dogs, I don't think that's appropriate.
Simply making them levitate a bit higher should fix 90% of the problems with them.
Well yes, but I don't suppose the devs made this stratagem in order for us to not use it, so if they want their work not to go to waste they just need to tweak a single float value (I would assume) to make those things less of a hazard to Helldivers.
The Rover is an S-tier strat against bugs. Not so much against bots but for bugs it’s great
You can move and dive out of the way if it’s hitting you
How am I supposed to do that when it murders me at the literal speed of light just because a little sh*t started nibbling on my ankles?
Again, I didn't make this post after being killed by my teammate's laser bots a dozen times or so, I don't like it, but I can see there being issues with my positioning, so I can accept that.
But when it kills ME? That's unacceptable, and it's an easy fix by the devs, should take literally 60 seconds for a junior dev to fix the problem by just increasing the float value of the drone's hover height. (Although I could be wrong about this, idk Helldiver's code)
yeah but it's part of the trade off like the sentry can kill you i don't see why they would make this any different
for exemple the mortar sentry is a great teamkilling machine so I don't use it because the trade off isn't good enough imo
PS: if a turret can detect bugs, it can detect you, on the plus we the soldiers could have a device on us that the turrets detect, and so NOT open fire on us.
ALSO wasting ammo in turning the turret 180° to kill a bug behind it, why can't it stop untill the bug can be killed, i swear the time my turret runs dry because it keeps firing into a wall to kill a bug behind it or by turning 180° "and in the proccess nearly melting me"... yea not a fan of stupid AI.
Ye exactly, there's a metric sh*tton of stuff that kills Helldivers, that's not the problem, the problem is when something that is constantly there automatically decides that it doesn't like me so much anymore. The only "mistake" I could be said to have made in that situation is taking this thing in the first place.
since it is so useful against bugs I feel its fine that it has downsides like this, look how mortar sentry is incredibly powerful and has a lot of ammo but also incredibly risky for your team
Mortar sentry is way worse and guaranteed to kill your team
