As if they "decide" to get close to the Hulks...
Dude wtf you talking?
If we had real meele weapons like chainsaws, your comment would make sense.
But like this it is just nonsense.
I do not use mortar at all just to prevent this situations to happen!
There are other solutions like Railgun...
Oh yes and I am sorry to "descide" to go close to the Charger.^^
I always fight them with 1000 hits of my gun-shaft.^^
Sorry to be in the way of your Orbital or whatever...^^
There are 100 times more teamkills than trolls!
We solve the troll problem if it is a problem not due to any theories about trolls that right now do not exist....
Getting killed 1 time by a hellbomb is ok and as I allready said the damage calculation seems NOT to work, since you do NOT have 10k HP that you loose...
1 hellbomb should be 1 max HP dmg on the paper.
So as I allready estimated 1 hellbomb killing 3 teamates should be about 4200 dmg.
And as I allready clearified 5000 dmg was just an idea, maybe 10.000 dmg is a better limit.
If a player kills his teammates 7 times (almost in a row) by constantly throwing granades and airstrikes directly into his team doing like 10k dmg it is a different story.
He is risking the outcome of the mission and it is beyond beeing funny!
Reinforcements are limited and at some point players like that ruin it for the team.
And I proposed a 1 hour ban not a perma ban, so it is no big deal!
Just a slap an the fingers and some time to think about a better playstyle...
This is not draining the fun out of anything...
Thank you!
My thoughts are going in the exact same direction.
I mean, the game registers the damage that is done. So sure, in the middle of a fight it can happen that you take damage, often, and die to it. No issue.
But, as an example, in my situation, there were no enemies around. That jerk did only damage me, several times in a short period of time. And I think something like that happende to one of the others too, I remember seeing something like this in the chat. But since I was far away (doing the actual objectives), I cant tell for sure.
So in a situation like this, were player A is just dealing damage to B with no damage to foes in between.. that could be a red flag for the system. Again, just an example.
However there definitely does need to be an anonymous report player function, you could make it so that it was only available at the end of a mission to people who had died to friendly fire, and if a player reaches a certain threshold of reports in a given perid, say 10 in a rolling 48 hour period or something then they get a ban. More serious than just 1 hour. Maybe a week or month dependi on the threshhold. That way people who accidentally TK wont get banned, theyt might occasionally get reported if someone doesn't see the funny side of the occasional accidents that happen in the chaos of a dive, but they would never be likely to accrue enough reports in that rolling period to get a ban. Only people who intentionally TK would do.
I've only played 3 games with randos as I usually play with friends and so far 1 out of those 3 I've been intentionally TKed while me and my friend sat in the pellican ready to extract they waited until we got in then the 2 of them hosed the inside of the pellican and killed is both before jumping in and didnt reinforce us before they left. So very obviously not an accident. If they are doing that to everyone they play with then no-one has any chance to level the score with them, they just disappear and do it to someone else again and again, they would get a ban in no time.
Their names were grandwalrus225 and dethreaper975 both PS5 players as they don't have Steam accounts in those names. If you see them play with them at your own risk.
How do you assist people if you don't care about where they are and what they are doing.
I thought you were the host as I was reading, but when it turns out you joined it makes sense.
Basically you did your thing the whole game and when they tried to interact (a dude coming up to you and shooting smells a lot like they tried to communicate and you ignored them) you replied by shooting back.
It's not that surprising to me that you would get a kick. They've probably been wondering what the ♥♥♥♥ you were doing the whole game. Then they probably got annoyed that you did the objective triggering the extra spawns.
Basically if you want to assist, do assist. Thinking you're doing stuff for them without even looking at where they are on the map is not helping them doing the stuff.
Erm... did you read my post right?
I went on my own because no one else was doing the objectives and time was running out!
And how is shooting me several times "trying to communicate"? There is textchat and you can use your mic, I would say much better options to get your point across than by shooting people... unless your point is to just kill other players.
And if somebody was triggering more spawns it was them. I got into the ones I did by sneaking and what I triggered I killed or left behind by breaking line of sight, so again, no reason to be angry at me.
I may not have been helping them "do stuff", because the stuff they were doing was attacking random nests and wasting time and ressources there. I know that because I checked the map several times to see what they where doing.
Yeah I read and I had to make assumptions clearly, but the attitude still stands you see.
You say they were wasting time, you know because you checked the map but you didn't talk to them, evidently.
So that's my point and why it was all fine while I thought you were the host.
The way I see it the host calls the shots, you work that or around that. But taking off on your own and (possibly?) ignoring the others can be seen as antagonistic by them.
I wouldn't particularly care, I guess most hosts wouldn't either, but you're basically joining someone's game to ignore them and do your thing, that's not assisting even thou the end stats would be better.
Because again yeah, you might be right that progression wise you'd be bringing a better outcome but it might not be what the host is interested in.
And again, I'm not saying they were doing the right thing in kicking you, but I'm saying I can see how it could happen.
If you don't know what the host is aiming for how can you assist? That was the ironic part.
You're just doing what you think is best on your own inside someone else's mission. Which could be met with thanks or kicks but is not helping them in any tangible way except currency.
They are not seeing "how it's done", they are not experiencing group dynamics, they are not working tactics. They are zerging with a random going around collecting stuff.
All in all I'm not trying to patronize you or whatever, it's just that I see this general attitude of "I drop in I get all the samples all the nests and they still whine" and I don't understand it. You're not helping you're playing the game for them in the way you want it to be played, how can you not expect frictions at times? Someone is bound to get annoyed that in his coop game a dude is running around solo clearing the map.
