Question about fighting bots
Fighting the bugs I understand they have weak points but they aren't THAT precise, it's not like its a precision aiming game. With the bots, it seems like it is entirely about making pixel perfect weakpoint shots, otherwise you can't do any damage (outside strats). Am I missing something? I know you can just hammer them with the AMR but that feels like brute forcing it. Are there better armor piercing weapons?

Unfortunately small arms weapons really suck right now. I like to use explosives to just brute force the big robots, but that doesn't help for the Hulks...

With shotguns I shoot at legs for the skinny bots. Bigger bots are the head surrounded by a bunch of armor. I found its easiest to kill the T2 bots (with rocket pods, shields, so on) with grenade launcher. The grenades do kill the Large turret, the destroyer, and the tank if you hit their weak spot ports. Does nothing otherwise.

Can use the Diligence (DMR) with the R key changing its zeroing to max. This allows you to hit their heads a bit easier.

The railgun with ammo pack for constant supply of ammo is VERY affective, and does most damage on 'unsafe' mode. Shoot limbs off, or if you hit the head killing most bots in 1 shot.

An alternative option is smoke grenades. People aren't doing much with smokes, but they are EXSTREAMLY useful in higher difficulties. Basically breaking like of sight allows you to run to the next objective.

you can take down Hulks with the AMR quickly but shooting their red eye but the problem is its SUCH a small hit box and standing still and aiming at it is a sure death.

If you are getting white hit markers, you are doing damage reduced by armor, red hit markers are weak point hits for full damage, a hit marker with a shield icon means the damage was absorbed/ricocheted by the armor. Can usually drop larger bots with the breaker just by aiming for their face/eye sensor

Assault rifles are garbage, and using the zoom feature just makes aiming under pressure worse, not better.

Defender has better odds of robo headshots in 3rd person than an assault rifle does with a scope. Hell, it is stable enough that you have decent odds of chain headshot multi taps for the kills while crouch strafing (it suffers at point blank pressure when they are on top of you, even if you are killing 80% of the trash bots before they enter breaker range)

The default marksman rifle works okay, (seems trying to attack from a side angle is iffy even with AMR). But the counter sniper seems super ♥♥♥♥♥♥, where again shots I can make in 3rd person with the basic marksman will botch in max zoom on counter sniper. Also do not trust people telling you it is secretly medium penetration, it still bounces off radiators.

I use the autocannon on most larger robots (haven't unlocked the railgun yet). It's a rather versatile tool but reloads are stationary and the ammo pack takes up your back slot but I still love it nonetheless.

The standard breaker does a pretty good job on anything man-sized.

I've used the railgun (found as a map drop) and found it somewhat inflexible due to its single-shot and charge-up action making it suitable for piercing occasionally heavy-armored tanks and hulks but it struggles with large quantities of enemies.

For those big cannon towers or annihilator tanks and hulks I'll often split off from the group to get behind them and shoot out their vent grille with the autocannon.

Impact hand grenades work on those, too.
