Guard Dog vs Guard Dog Rover
Guard Dog Rover has a laser.
Guard Dog has a gun.
What's the difference between them?

Lasers don't seem to pierce armour at all.
Better for no-armour trash, but you can kill that with your pistol, so who cares?

-Rover can Team Kill while often, but has unlimited ammo, no reload
-Guard Dog need to reload and often run out of ammo, weaker dmg, but harder to Team Kill
Rover is overall a better choice, just wait until you can unlock it, use supply pack in the mean time
The Rover are also useful when you need to focus on the big boy like charger, it will take off pressure from small enemy.

Rover is by far the better of the two. It just works consistently all of the time from the moment you put it on.

Rover is definitely the better of the two. Unlimited ammo, works on heat, almost never overheats which means no downtime and like both rovers covers you 360° all around. With cluster strike, railgun, rover and oribital I easily pull 400+ kills per mission.

Guard dog rover, as far as I can tell, is not working how it is intended to.

The thing can kill 300+ bugs without overheating and your energy meter (From refills.) never depletes. As it stands right now, it is the superior choice for drones because of reasons stated above. Alternatively, it can kill you because the beam is constant and can swing your way.

The guard dog (Regular.) has 7 magazines of ammo before you're out and you only get ammo back from resupply (Either stratagem or someone with a backpack.). It kills way faster than beams, cannot kill you and seems to be functioning properly.

Rover is better overall due to inf ammo but requires you to move in specific ways to prevent self/team damage.

One has less damage than the other (and the laser has inf ammo vs liberator reloads), that's really it.
