Disable kicking or make it a vote.
3 times now i've been kicked always on last mission of the 3, always difficulty 7+, always at the last objective or on the way to extract, always for no reason.

I cover my fellow helldivers, flank the enemy or draw fire so others can flank. Always call out targets and supplies. resupply others, call down heavy weapons for others if theirs are on cooldown. Always friendly and communicative.

Seems to me like kicking is just being abused.

An alternative would be to just just receive whatever EXP/rewards you had gathered at the time or get a percentage of the total rewards once the mission is ended based on time in mission vs how long it took.
Example: I was in the mission for 80% of the time, I get 80% of the rewards.

It just feels crappy to carry or really play for the team for 30-40 minutes and then get kicked because someone just feels like having a power trip, which also means I played for nothing.

The game is really fun, but I also want to get the rewards so I can unlock all the cool ♥♥♥♥ that is in it.

>But you can just always be the host.
Sure, and wait several minutes for people to join, or enter the mission, activate an SOS-beacon and try to solo a Impossible/Helldive mission for however long it takes for people to join.

>But kicking is important if someone is griefing.
Literally never had that. But if someone really is, then a vote would be no problem right?

>I've never been kicked.

I feel the same way.
i didn't get kicked at the evac yet, but i get kicked so often in the middle of a game, or after that, without knowing why.

I support my mates, i'm always with my squad and try to do the best.

I would like to have people telling me, when i do something wrong, but there is never even a word in chat.

A vote would be good, i guess.

"I have never been kicked" adds to the discussion though. You are doing something that apparently attracts kicking, which defies your premise of "no reason".

My suspicion is that the hosts labeled you as a really bad player. In 50+ public games I have been kicked twice, and once by a deliberate troll who said he was going to before the mission ended.

I've had two hosts just team kill me at the end of the match and then instant kick. I have no friendly fire damage, have recalled a few hundred players at this point. not taken ammo supplies from friendlies, or taken their weapons or drops. And yet... Kicked by someone REEing over the mic about nonsense not even happening in the game.

Starting to feel this community is pretty trash.

Right, that happened to me a few times too. But I assume those are unrelated to the OP.

do you perhaps have your microphone on sound activation? i have kicked ppl because they had allot of background noise or you could hear the game sounds delayed through their mic and didnt want to change it to push to talk.

This will be the reason why this game will die eventually.

Because of Tyranny, not Democracy.

I have had that happen.

I have been kicked once when i obviously joined a 3 man and it was as I dropped in. The only people I have kicked are people who clearly don't have the gear for the mission, or who are intentionally team killing after being warned. Even on the ones with gear thats useless ill still try to carry them through and tell them im kicking you because of your gear, don't play this difficulty without having stuff to handle it once the mission is over so they get something. You are doing something that leads people to kick you.

The only person I ever kicked, I kicked because he joined my 3 friends and sprinted to the evac when we were trying to do side objectives. Sure, that might qualify as "kicking a person at the evac" but it was only time to evac because this sweaty little gremlin decided to hijack our game and force us to abandon all of our samples and bonus objectives because he wanted to pretend to be a speedrunner and refused to finish up maybe 5 more minutes of side stuff with us.

I somehow doubt all these "me am kicked 4 no reason" posts were actually for no reason. I'm sure it has happened, but I think most of the people saying it was for no reason are either in denial, trying to make themselves look good, or don't have the social skills to realize they were hijacking the game in some way (or were just open mic'd, that's annoying too.)

Yeah. I do a lot of public games and the only times I get kicked are immediately after joining (presumably someone didnt intend for their game to be joinable) or in the ship (either same thing or making room for friends)

The people acting like this is an epidemic are almost certainly doing something, intentional or not, to prompt people to kick them.

I've only ever been kicked once, it was as I was getting on the dropship of the host. I assume they just forgot they had their lobby on public
Iamnuff Feb 23, 2024 @ 5:05pm
Are people playing public games with their mics on?

Nah bro. Not doing that.
arsonist Feb 23, 2024 @ 5:05pm
I'm worried that it will be an issue. In the times I have been kicked, most of them are pre-game. Maybe it's muh elitism or they forgot to set the lobby to private. In my experience, it's more rare to get kicked mid-mission, usually due to single instance of ACCIDENTAL friendly-fire in a mission that's been going smooth.
