About those weapons that apparently need two people to operate...

You know, the Spear and the Recoilless Rifle for example. I'm a little unclear on who those work. So they can't be used by a player without assistance?

I don't have them unlocked, but I got the other gun with backpack. You can use both yourself, it just takes more time to reload.

You can wear the backpack and reload yourself, or someone else can wear the backpack and walk up to you and push "E" to initiate a team reload, where they reload as you fire.

It can be used alone, just much slower, although an autocannon, for example, alone is almost as good as in dual mode.

To add to this, the team reload will make the other user snap to your character and you move in tandem... to an extent. It doesn't work very well on some slopes or rocks or if you're whipping yourself around a lot.

The Autocannon as long as you leave a round in the chamber is super quick to reload by yourself. it takes like 2-3x as long if you have to rack it.

Hmmm... I tried using the Recoilless by myself and it said "Team Reload Required." Do I need to wear the ammo pack to use it without a team?

Someone else has to wear the pack and when you have the launcher out, they can press E on you to feed you ammo nearly instantly. But THEY have to have the ammo pack for it. If you want to reload it by yourself, you need an ammo pack.

Yeah the Autocannon is really fun, plenty of shots and it doesn't take too long to single reload. You can interrupt the reload animation half-way by hitting the fire button as well, useful if you already loaded one mag and something is rushing you.

Generally find that unless I am playing with competent friends it is best to carry the pack yourself, that way you never have to wonder where the hell the person with your ammo pack is all the time.

You can use it by yourself. The difference is that solo with the pack, you take a knee for about a 5-6 second reload, as apposed to a buddy with the pack slapping a round in, which takes about 1.2 seconds. Slamfire, baby! It's how we win.

It takes longer waiting for the teammate to be there to reload and said teammate can't otherwise be useful in the meantime while you're in this mating position, just stand there and look handsome, basically. Not a fan of assisted reload...
