Extraction experiments for true patriots
Civilian Extraction missions: We dislike them, this is undeniable.

What if we could up the potential herd of personnel released from the shelters in one go?
I have seen pathing bugs causing civilians to clump up and simply hold position rather then move for the escape shuttle when something blocks their path that they cannot circumvent.

Consider this theoretical, Helldiver:
Call in supply pods, call in support weapons, call in whatever you can to blockade the exit that civilians emerge from when you press the call button, then press it. Theoretically the three civilians that exit the shelter should simply stand by, confused and unsure of how to proceed.
if they are hemmed in tight enough, upon pressing the call button again, three more civilians should exit the shelter, and merge with the already existing civilians, clipping inside one another, all awaiting the pathway to open so they can attempt their escape.

Should this work, at a point you should have enough civilians fused together with one-another like some form of grafted abomination that once removing the pods blocking them in, regardless how many die in the ensuing rush, the thirty required should make it, easy.
It would require a bit of setup, obviously, and you'd need to defend that point best you could, but condensing the area in which one needs to take care of to a singular point should remove a level of stress, provided your team is properly controlling drop-ship rates and points of entry.

Is this optimal? Unlikely.
Is this feasible? Possibly.

Literally impossible as the door won't reset until the civilians despawn.

I can tell you already that if anyone brings even a single mortar sentry, the whole plan is screwed. Four rounds fired at that one bot that got too close (they always fire in bursts of four) and the whole blob is dead. The EMS version would be little better, as civilians are forced to slow down to a walk in those static fields just like we are. Rather not give up the most useful sentry for that mission type.

Understood. this must have been addressed in one of the patches between my experience of them blobbing up when path-finding breaks and now.

I leave now for my time in the freedom camps. Democracy protect.
