There is nothing good about the liberator pen

It does penetrate armor though. Just not heavy armor. It's pretty useful against Devastators and those annoying armored-face bugs.

No it really doesn't, better off just mag dumping the basic assault rifle at the weakspots than using this POS weapon. Sure you'd miss half your shots, but it would still be more ammo efficient and kill quicker.

If you want a primary with medium armor pen AND killing power, try the Slugger. It's strong, has good pen, staggers the enemy and you can stun lock them. Works on Devastators too and other non heavy armor targets.

It is a slug shotgun though so its like a better marksman rifle with way more omph and its different than the marksman rifle in that its not actual hot ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ garbage

I can't think of a single enemy which has a significant weakspot behind medium armor aside from armored spitter bugs.

Usually there's a lot of HP still behind that armor and Penetrator has some of the worst damage in the entire game.

Meaning medium armor pen is worthless on weapons if they also do low damage. So if you absolutely have to have it then you're still better off using Slugger or Dominator.

AR-23 Liberator: 55 dmg, 45 mag, 360 total ammo, Total damage: 19.8k
AR-23P Liberator Penetrator: 45 dmg, 30 mag, 330 total ammo, Total damage: 14.8k

Penetrator trades a lot of potential damage for Medium armor pen, that's not that useful.
The only enemies you may benefit fom it are : Hive Guards, armored Bile Spewers, Light Scouts (Med armor weakpoint at leg joint), Berserkers/ Devastators, Hulk (weakpoint at head). But most of them either have other Light armor weakpoints, or weak against explosives (grenades, AC, GL).
So how actually useful is Medium armor pen on Primary?
If you play in group - not much. most likely someone will bring HMG/AC/GL that deal with said enemies way better.
In solo? You will bring some form of AntiTank to deal with chargers/BIle Titans /Tanks/ Hulks.
In solo your primary should be good at dealing with regular trash that still spawns and also presents danger.
There is literally no scenario where 23P is actually needed.
You can take it for fun, but it is waay weaker than even regular AR-23.

Unfortunately I kind of agree. I love the pen in concept, but it has less base damage, less fire rate, and more recoil, than the basic liberator. Also the fact you have to hold down the trigger to fire the full 3 round burst is really annoying. It's almost easier to use on semi-auto as a result. it shoots slower AND does less damage while being more inaccurate somehow due to the recoil.

I also find it funny the gun that has more pen & somehow holding less ammo which most likely means bigger bullets somehow does less damage ???

If you thinks Penetrator is bad try Spray and Pray. That weapon is hot piece of garbage. Every other weapon is at least somewhat usable, not this one.
