The helldivers are actually super earth's elite.
There is this running meme that they are just grunts glorified by fake propaganda, but if you think about it:
A single helldiver usually kills at least 100 enemies before dying, that is while completely overwhelmed from each direction.

Yeah they usually have the lifespan of an imperial guard, but they are actually rather skilled while they are alive lore wise. lol

Is there even a single scenario where "you" survived 2-3 missions in a row?
i guess helldivers are just human meat beacon thrower telling where super destoryers should shoot their weapon

It is true, it’s just all conveyed through the satire of war. That's why many people think that they are stupid cannon fodder.
Honestly I don't believe that they are. Although the ceo of Arrowhead says so, but he is part of the Super Earth government so whatever he says has probably been doctored by the ministry of truth.

I still believe that the hell divers program makes use of battle clones pumped absolutely full of propaganda and stims (not withstanding weapons, equipment, etc) and used for Super Earth's most insane conflicts; fighting the Terminids and the Automatons. The fact that your character wakes up from conveyor belts and defrosted for battle gives it away, the way Divers are reinforced also hints at it.

Also recall that during the tutorial mission you wake up in a transporter not really knowing who you are and told to pick up weapons to fight.

The previous galactic war may have been fought by normal humans, but this one is being fought by clones. 😁

Some of them do, but some of them die right off the drop. Super earth seems to be more interested in giving people the literal bare minimum combat training, sticking them in a pod and seeing whether they will be one of the effective/lucky ones or another dumbass who airstrikes himself.

When you're throwing that many people into the fray, the best and the luckiest will be the only ones left

That's the lovely lore thing tho. Of every 100 people making it out of the training, at least 1 should actually be good soldiers. Or if you take the numbers - 1 out of 5. I am now not sure if it was HD1 or 1, but there is the funny úpart where it shows that Helldivers are near 100% fanatically loyal and about 17% combat effective and trained, which basically fits :D

Hmmm... you know when you put it that way, maybe we are an elite after all.
Just like how the elite military unit training go, 100 something applicants, in the end only 10%-20% actually succeed.

But for us, the training is the trial by fire.

of course you are.
You're the best humanity has to offer.
Now go out there and show the bugs and bots what's what

Well as I edited above, but too late.
I am now not sure if it was HD1 or 2, but there is the funny part where it shows that Helldivers are seleced based on applicant core, which on average has near 100% fanatical loyalty to Super earth and about 17% combat effectivnes, which is a funny way to explain a lot of stuff that happens in the game, lol.

I'm pretty sure their just clone bodies, they unfreeze a new one whenever they need to. It's why there are tons of pods with bodies in it when you go onto your ship.
