Yes, Internet connection to their servers required. There is no offline mode at present. Servers are overloaded and very difficult to login. It's a great game, but I'd hold off on purchase until this is resolved.

This is BS, stupid thing to make games online, it's completely stupid forcing players to play in their server instead of allowing us to host our own match with our friends or solo... Just try what? To purchase a $40 game that I won't be able to play? The moment the developers made the game online, they ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ruined the game. Now no one can play this crap of a game because we are forced to run in their servers.

There's a number of games where the always-online stuff doesn't fit, like Hitman 3, but not a game like this. Everything you do impacts the grand scheme of things. It's all a global effort from the community. Unfortunately, you can't be offline for that.

No, it isn't. You can play offline, I'm playing offline. There are two ways, you can play offline after connecting to your account, or you can open the game in offline mode.

This is a load of bs. As soon as Steam goes into Offline Mode or you experience No Connection, you lose access to the galaxy map.
