Why are the robot escort missions one trillion times harder than anything else in the game?
We were 4 people, we played on easy and we were absolutely destroyed, we stood absolutely no chance.

I've heard tales that its bugged to be way harder than it should be. My personal experience though, is that they never stop summoning more robots, to the point where if you can't gun them down quick enough, then they start snowballing out of control.

I think it was made hard so we would lose, right now it feels like we are going to wipe out the bots fully.

It's an invasion.
Challenging can be soloed easily if you take the right tools. Sentries and guard dog to control crowd and keep things off you, then run to extract civilians (press the three buttons). You can extract about 10 of them before even one enemy enters the area.
Don't try to kill everything, you'll get overwhelmed fast if you do. Focus on the objective, then defend the extraction zone.

There's also the possibility that the game directors are purposely pushing for a loss so that people get to see what it's like when you lose a war and the enemies invade Super Earth.

Someone told me that the mission timer is default 40 minutes, but on extraction missions for bots it's 15 minutes. Making that match instance think that time is almost up, therefore sending out the big bads immediately and constantly lol. I'd figured they'd want to sort those bugs out quick cause that's a lotta mission to lose

It's not bugged anyway, they adjusted the difficulty twice in recent updates.

This is my guess. Same reason why Creek has never been taken, even with the memes and people playing on it since launch.

Yeah absolutely, but before this apparent patch that fixed it, that match type still thought it was the normal 40 minutes, and that's what screwed it up

It pretty much demands using wide area destruction like mortar turrets, and/or mass dropship interception. Total focus on keeping the civilians moving and wiping out any bot drops encroaching on the evac center.

The best performance I've seen is two weapons teams with Recoilless and Grenade Launcher/Railgun, that focus on keeping the civis moving and downing dropships, with the RR's loader dumping grenade launcher rounds into clearing anything that survives. with 4-8 mortars (EMS mortar helps) plus some dropship interceptions, numbers are kept down to somewhat manageable levels.

Keep in mind, a weapons team means one person brought the Recoiless, the other brought a supply pack and the weapon user carries the supply pack so you can resupply rockets to the loader as needed. (both bringing mortars and with one free stratagem slot to use for whatever they like... except 120/380mm artillery, those will not help.)

Mind you, I'm not trying 7+ even with that setup and a full team on voice-coms.:raven:

It's either bugged or not balance but yea that mission at medium shouldn't be harder than a 7 lol
