Ryzen 5 5600
rx 6700xt
16gb ram
70-80fps ultra and i ran afmf just for extra fps
5600x, 3080 10gb, 32gb ddr4, 1440p 165hz
Doing this mission isn't just a fight against the AI, its a fight running the game itself while trying to play. Which leads to mission failure on my end cause its chugging and hindering my performance.
- Putting settings all the way from low to med/ultra doesn't really help performance. Even putting the scaling to ultra/performance the fps is terrible and constantly pretty much below 60 at all times with nothing but discord open. Its tough cause my game looks like a psp game while the fidelity is this low, and the framerate is not smooth consistently.
- I also tried the set to high priority, set affinity by trying each CPU 0-5 for my specific cpu (I found If I disable cpu 5, my performance feels a tad bit smoother, but doesn't stop the game from dropping to the usual low fps.)
Right, and the issue being discussed here is the game isn't properly utilizing hardware, or is at least doing it inefficiently. It's sloppy code and likely the anticheat hogging CPU utilization with all the memory checks it does over and over. They're using an engine that was discontinued in 2018 that they had to slap together to function to meet the culture of what is "next gen".
People need to ease up on just blaming hardware lazily. Not saying you are, but.
The bugs maps FPS is generally 40-50 FPS constant with high 65.
My CPU is under 20% load and my GPU under 75% load.
For reference, my rig is
GeForce 4080
I7 13700K
32 gb RAM
Only 1080p at 144 hz.
I was running 300 FPS uncapped easily days before, and today I could barely break 140. I tried lower graphics, verifying files, etc. but nothing worked.
Instead, I deleted the entire Game guard folder in the game files.
Lo and behold my FPS was fine after.
For those who want to try this:
Program files>Steam>steam apps>Common>Helldivers 2>bin
Delete the whole folder "GAME GUARD" and relaunch the game. It will automatically redownload their terrible anti cheat.
I don't know why this works, but it worked for me. I also cannot guarantee it will work for anyone, but if it does; I hope I saved you a headache.
I've got a 5800x paired with a rtx4070ti I get 120 I locked it to 80 cause when hordes spawn, explosions happening it's dropping anyway. You must have some other issue with your system if you're getting 40fps.
Assuming this is a desktop, I'd recommend either getting a second hand Ryzen 3000 or 5000 series chips. They even go cheap new. That'll give you a significant boost.
