The more RAM you have the more it's going to get used. You're an idiot. 16 is fine for this game and fine for pretty much all. Having 32 gigs nowadays is just going to let you run and do other things WHILE you have a game open. 16 is plenty to just run a game on.
OP, there are issues with the optimization, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Mid range rigs struggle with the game, it's known. Their recommended specs mention an RTX 2060 for a card, but benchmark tests on sites report it doesn't even net you 60 FPS minimum like they claim.
Sad reality is, other than waiting for optimization there's not a whole lot you can do. Messing with settings won't change much, but there's a few you can try. You can try toggling off async compute in the user_settings.config file. It's a 50/50, but depending on the system it can either worsen or better your performance.
Beyond that, you can look into forcing frame generation in the game. You'll need an app to do it, and you can find it on Steam; Lossless Scaling. You don't need an RTX 4xxx series card to use frame gen anymore. It will literally double your frames at the cost of some latency. I've had it running on my brother's older rig and it's amazing.
I'd also recommend looking into Lossless Scaling, used it on my old laptop before the Frame Generation update, and if they had released that and my old one didn't die (RIP fan bearings) I might have held off on the upgrade.
Also if you can cheaply upgrade to 32GB of RAM, I would recommend it for some games, also depends on software bloat or just multitasking in general (When I have Helldivers open, I have around 22/64GB in use) to if 16GB is enough, in the perfect world it is so you can also go about trying to reduce unnecessary RAM use.
Sad part is that optimisation is rly bad as you said. Hope they figure it out
Thanks brother
The game is CPU heavy and the 1600AF (aka cut down 2600) is slower than christmas. What do you expect? I bet all 6 cores are pegged.
Why didn’t I think that the reason behind the issues might be that its a PS port as you said… pretty interesting.
I mean another two sticks of 8gb ram is dirt cheap here so, why not. End scenario is that it doesnt help and i get a 16gb ram bonus lol.
Thank you again!!!
No, they're not. You have no idea what you're talking about.
30 - 40 FPS is really good for ur hardware
The PS5 has a GPU equivalent to an RX6700 which is literally three times faster than what you have. The CPU is also faster and has more cores than your machine. Add to that unified resources and you have something much stronger than what you have. I'm sorry if it hurts your feelings, hell I have two spare RX 480s here I'll send you one for free to run crossfire if you want, thats how worthless they are in 2024.
