That might be the worst part. We cannot skip this minute long screen. As it means nothing to us at this point. We just want to see our score on the ship.
It is to avoid players (like myself and many of you guys in the thread here) getting too far ahead of the other players. I've been capped for ages on medals, common, rare and nearly capped on supers and even longer on requisition slips which was the first resource I hit the cap on
It also means when new content drops like the t4 upgrades you have all the players like us actively participating in clearing the map, which makes the experience with randoms a lot better
If there was no cap then it would mean I would already have been able to immediately unlock all the tier 4 upgrades and the entire warbond as soon as it released. Which is fun for me but it means when I then go to play with other random players who did not have a resource hoard I would no longer be actively searching every POI and every outpost for samples while they would be trying to do that
So if there was no cap it would ruin the experience for everyone else who did not play as much when they then get randoms like me and you guys in their game as we'd have already unlocked everything and thus not be fussed about the samples
Whereas now due to the cap we are all actively hunting samples the same as those who played a lot less than us. But the cap did still allow us to get 2 upgrades right away which is great and it was ample medals to unlock a bunch of stuff right away on the warbond so we did still benefit from the small hoard of resources we had, while the cap prevented us from overly benefiting from the hoard we would have had otherwise without the cap
And even once we finish getting all the upgrades we will still be hunting samples as we will want to cap ourselves out again
So it ensures quite a long period of even the most dedicated players continuing to participate in the same activities that less dedicated random players also need to do now
The other ones are more reasonable. You can afford two of the new modules if you're capped other than rare samples.
I agree. You kind of have to have the cap otherwise the people who played a lot would amass so many samples, they'd never help get more samples for the newer players.
It already was happening before this patch where many people were capped and not bothering grabbing them. At least this way, people (like me) have to go back to hunting for them again.
Otherwise I'd just have so many by now, I could just buy the new modules and go back to ignoring them. I still liked to grab them when I was on a team with lower level dudes I know still need them, but from what I've seen most people just start ignoring them.
Unless they plan on releasing new ship upgrades really often, this is a detriment. I mean think about it, if you could store samples, you would be far more inclined to do so, as it is, you only do that for the small time it takes to farm the ship components. Right now I have no need for samples, medals or credits, feels bad wasting all that. Only thing I need is XP to get to 150. Of course those people where ignoring them, you get NOTHING, why would you bother? At least if you would store them, you would get SOMETHING.
raising the cap wouldn't prevent people from still having nothing to spend it on.
