Ragdolling gotten worse?
I haven't played the game as much lately but ever since early may the ragdolling has just been insane, to the point it's literally impossible to enjoy or play the game. Against bugs it's fine and fun to play most of the time but automatons are just not fun at all, you're just constantly flinging around ragdolled, can't even enter a stratagem combo before you're ragdolled again. And it's not even about taking damage, some missile hits the ground around your general area and you just fall or go flying for several seconds. Spending 2/5 of your time just flying around in a ragdolled state completely immobilized is not fun. What is going on? I swear it wasn't this bad before?

It was funny the first 50-60 hours.
Now it's just a well known "feature" that not many enjoy.

Sadly, the players are wrong about it, CEO said it himself.
The players are ALWAYS wrong.

It was always this bad. It’s just not as amusing anymore. Huge part of why I don’t play much anymore, Either crawl around prone for 40 minutes or spend half the mission in the air with no control.

I heavily, whole heartedly agree. Nothing is more unfun then losing controle of your character. Being flung for meters because of an impact nearby then watching your dude trying to stand back up. then ragdolling or falling down or flinching some more.... Deepest of sighs. They need to tone down the knockback in this game ALOT and reduce flinching in heavy armor.
they should let you shoot while being ragdolled for maximum chaos

Gotta agree here. If I'm wearing heavy armor (or even armor with Extra padding passive), that's gotta do something for that damned ragdolling when they simply touch me.

It's still funny to me to get ragdoll'd but when it happens on Difficulty 8+, it becomes a bit more frustrating than I want to admit.

Agreed completely. I'm not sure who at Arrowhead thinks that ragdolls are funny, but I don't. Fighting Automatons is incredibly frustrating. It feels like there's constantly someone lobbing explosives at me. If I'm lucky, that just throws off my aim and knocks me around. If I'm unlucky, I get chain-ragdolled and spend the next 5-10 seconds on the ground.

What's especially egregious is getting ragdolled while already prone. I have like 90% explosive resistance, but seemingly zero knockback resistance. A rocket landing anywhere near me is enough to nudge my character slightly. Minor ragdoll, minor inconvenience, right? Except my character bolts upright as soon as they come out of the Ragdoll state. Means I can't remain prone without my Helldiver constantly standing up and eating damage.

Replace the Ragdoll effect with short stagger on anything a direct hit or a very large explosion. You can leave the ragdoll on player Strategems, but it absolutely needs to go from the majority of Automaton weapons. Removing the player's control over their character is almost never a good idea. If you're going to use it, you have to use it SPARINGLY.

Yes. I noticed it the other day after taking a month away from the game. Ragdolling is like being trolled now

God you guys are just looking for things to get mad at arent you? Sadly, since there is no nuances in the debates on what's good and bad and everything is just awful it becomes difficult for the devs to really analyse what really hurts the community. Ironically, this is the type of message that makes it even harder to listen to the community for feedback.

Not sure what you're on about.
Care to elaborate?
As long as it sticks to the rag dolling issue and stays on the OP's original topic I will respond.

It's not the ragdolling per say. It's what follows it. Implying that the devs say the players are "always wrong" is completely changing the meaning of that that slide (meant for inside view only). In a lot of field including mine (urban planning) we know that people in general are very good at identifying that a problem exists, but are generally very bad at understanding where it comes from or how to fix it.

This community is up in arms for the smallest of things ever since launch. If everything is awful it becomes very hard to prioritise what is to be done. With more nuances it becomes easier to know what to treat and fix first, what the players like and dislike. Might also explain why they were rushing half-baked patches after half-baked patches since everything seemed so bad all the times.

Oh there's the misunderstanding.

The devs have always said the players are wrong.

It's the CEO who agreed with them!

Glad we could clear that up.

This is why I said there was a misunderstanding.

It isn't the devs saying the player is wrong this time(Everyone knows devs think that)
It's the new CEO.

Since this topic has veered off, my last post will be dragging it back.

The rag dolling issue has been here since launch.

After 50-60 hours you realize it IS A FEATURE.
It was funny at first, but then it just REALLY gets annoying.

It's one of my least favorite features!!!!

However it is working largely as intended(No Dev/cm has said anything to the contrary)

What I have noticed recently after the last patch , is getting ragdolled off of a wall or raised area then getting rubber banded back to my original position.
