trying to play solo is IMPOSSIBLE
so i log on to do the Daily order see that i have to clear 6 side objectives i played for a few hours ....already fed up i only been able to Extract ONCE out of 6 missions the rest GOOD F ING LORD the spawn rates i at least try to compleate the objective but ugh ... there is literly no breathing room the literal moment im spotted BUG BREACH not even a chance to take out the bug screeching for help and before i know it cause of how buggered the spawn rates are there is an entire section of the Mini map Flashing Red with bugs on DIFFICULTY 3 yeah no im done i tried to give the game a chance but the spawn rate problem has got to go OR give us stronger weapons a measly shot gun is not going to be enough to deal with 100s of bugs specily if most of them are Hunters or other variants then just the small fry scouts usualy end up facing nothing but Nurse spewers that one shot ....FUN

Lower difficulty, play in coop.

if i go any lower there would be no side objectives meaning trying to do the daily is pointless and im a Australian on NBN IINET this interent service is not made to host P2P games im forced to play solo

the problem isn't even the spawn rates. Along with the patrol update, bugs got an overall speed upgrade. They move a LOT faster now than they used to. For example, the little scavengers, just the normal ones, move faster than your basic run speed. Forget backpedalling for a fighting retreat, you have to SPRINT away if the bugs start getting close, and may god have mercy on you if you're out of stamina.

Worse, this seems to be an overall buff across the line for bugs. Warriors, Hunters (*insert incoherent cursing here*) chargers and bile titans all seem to be moving, and turning, faster than they did before.

It's honestly a pretty serious problem. I used to be able to reliably 100% tier 6 bug missions solo, with some effort. Now it serious effort just to survive a tier 4 mission.

and no, i will not simply co-op. Scaling the game properly to the given number of players should not be difficult, games have been doing it for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ decades.

In the meantime, a few tips for playing against bugs:

1. Bring the gas strike. If you throw it on a bug breach, it will kill anything smaller than a brood commander.

2. Fire impact grenades are great for thinning out groups of regular mobs.

3. Supply backpack is your friend. On top of giving you far more longevity in terms of healing and ammo, it also basically makes every supply drop count double. It also gives you a lot more freedom for which weapon you want to pick against the bugs, since you wont be restrained by ammo.

They broke the enemy spawn scaling as of right now, solo players are supposed to get only a portion of patrols they do now, same with duo and trio, as it spawns same amount as for full squad

You could wait till next update where supposedly they will address this issue, but for now if you couldn't finish it maybe i could help you complete this daily order if you're willing to host, i don't mind the connection issues

play a lower difficulty, play with randos or get some friends. I can play solo on 6 max. Get over yourself
Sanglaine Jun 7, 2024 @ 12:49am
Protip, you can do a low level mission, drop on the side objective, finish it, then just return to ship once it counts up.
Cadwell Jun 7, 2024 @ 12:53am
yeah, the patrol spawning is bonkers.

Nowadays, it isn't an issue for me as it was before, but dear Lord it take a long while to get used to it.

One suggestion: loadout and stratagems are critical to success, even more so with the increased patrols than before, you cannot afford mistakes when it comes to loadouts.

Difficulty 4 spawn 3 side objectives.
You can play up to suicidal solo quite easily but you can only play it in one style, light armour with kiting and running between objectives. If you sit still and fight ♥♥♥♥ youll lose. I do it all the time. Light armour and maybe a shield or backpack to get around with, or just do Easy matches
You can out run and lose patrols chasing you by the way with smart movement and breaking line of sight

This game isn't designed for solo play

No they don't move faster. Stop coping. Bugs have always been fast and annoying. You can still sprint through a bunch of warriors in light armor and have them all miss you like before, which means you're basically forced to kite 24/7, which makes bugs significantly harder than bots.

The only thing that got broken was the patrol spawns. It feels so bad because it sent the amount of enemies over the critical mass that can be realistically dealt with alone without getting bogged down.

Also, Shield Pack > Supply Pack if you run medical armors because most of the time you will die to slows and one-shots, both of which the shield prevents. 2 more stims with way longer duration go a long way too.

Most cringe take ever. Maybe Arrowhead shouldn't have broken the spawns to begin with when nobody had issues with them? Maybe they shouldn't have left said broken spawns in the game for more than a month?
