PSN Delist workaround?

Some guy in reddit suggested that it might be possible to make an account in a PSN country and then buy the game and just link it to your main steam account( which is in a restricted area) and you should be able to play.

Has anyone tried this and what are your thoughts on it? Can it get you banned?

I bought the game key a month ago but been unable to add the game to my library because activating the key counts as a purchase -.-

Only gift code. PSN support literally said to live in country with PSN servise to play the game.

Making a PSN account won't matter. It's Valve blocking you, not Sony. And Valve just banned 20 people for trying to get around it.

Not even then. If Valve does have your country on the naughty list you won't be able to redeem codes nor buy it.

I guess the only option is to create a "clean" account using a vpn and only use that account when playing through the vpn being certain to never have the account touch your native region.
It's not a good solution but asfaik it's all you can realistically do, even than you are treading on a fine line as any slip up that causes them to think you may not be in the right region may invoke a ban.
Be certain to only purchase games using currency redeemed through a steam (usd) gift card as having any form of bank statement that lead back to your actual regional bank may also invoke the ban.

I wish valve would just cool it with this unfair treatment, the game was available in those regions until just recently it's absolutely pitiful that anyone would have to result to such drastic measures just to play a video game.

Yeah im not sure how the matchmaking would work and what kind of ping i would get..

Directors who miss their EoY bonuses - cos of the blowback - will remember this for years.
Sony, as the entity, DGAF:
- it would nuke AH, and two other studios on either side of the rolodex while looking at you in the eye - to prove a point.
- it threw away money on MadameWeb just to tick a box on an IP paperwork form.

It was probably me who suggested the idea. If you are the same person, you have a game key. With a new Steam account in a PSN county, created over vpn and the added key, and link it to your main account over the Steam family beta client.
This sounds possible. In theory you dont even need vpn to play the game with your main account.

Yep. It is fake. Otherwise the forums would be filled with people showing their screenshots with proof they got banned and complaining nonstop.

1. those accounts would be banned.
2. coming online saying "my Alt" was banned by Steam is not really an option either.
