If that's the direction they want to go with the story, yes. They dangle the carrots and decide what happens when we take a bite, but they can fudge it as they please.

Alternatively... it's my understanding that in the first game, you could actually win the Galactic War and reset the map. If that's still a thing, maybe we also reset the map if we... lose

lol imagine we get to defend super earth, but its just an empty green landscape with maybe one little metal shack in it somewhere

given that the major objectives lately have been extremely out of reach, I choose to believe that a confrontation on Super Earth is part of Joel's campaign and everything is going according to plan. If we had a playerbase of 300k still, we would be tasked to kill a few trillion automatons not a few billion.

Heh, what if they put the Sony Headquarters on Earth and see how many people purposely fail that defense mission.

If the game is anything like the first, yes super earth can be invaded and can even fall.

tbh idk how MO will affect the current frontlines
but i really hope its not gonna be smth like "a massive fleet detected" like that automaton crap they pulled

I wish if we lose SE defense MO, game will reset into release state.

Doubt they have any super earth content made. This war is already dragged out much further than wars in HD1. Super earth is just another same hills, same rocks, same handful of POI wasteland like the rest.

I really wish instead of helldivers 1 & 2, we had more maps on Alien Swarm.
