SONY thinks PC players will buy a PS - hence PSN account requirements

This is their simple logic, has been said for their marketing. They are releasing games for PC with the requirement to link your account to PSN, in the belief that PC players will eventually be so in awe, that they will buy a playstation, just because they now have a PSN account linked to their PC.

This will not happen. This is why they tried to force PSN on this game. It still seems to be unclear, as of there are still countries that can't access this game. Even though the PSN requirement was revoked. So this at least shows some light, as of why they have been so adamant putting on everything single game, that you require a PSN account. They want you to buy into their products, they want to make you a console gamer. Has nothing to do with security or banning.

Last playstation I owned was a PSX and PS2. Ever since the console bro companies kept up with their exclusive game format instead of crossplay support. Yeah its been that long... I havent purchased any of their products nor will I until they drop it. PC master gaming

Maybe, you know, make good games instead of quadruple-A cinematic slop with no actual value? Bloodborne literally made me buy a PS4 so I could play it (and a handful of other games). This generation has nothing even remotely on the same level.

To make good games you need competent devs.

And hiring ONLY competent devs is VERY problematic and not diverse. Absolutely no DEI points in doing that.

Also: competent devs are less likely to be down with making thinly veiled propoganda for THE CURRENT THING instead of just making a good game.

I do agree snoy is trying to get PC players to buy their consoles, but that's done with exclusives being realeased on PC, not PSN.

You greatly underestimate how big of an achievement it is for a service to get people to sign up. That's when you can really start selling people stuff and advertise to them. If you somehow get them to enter and save payment information it's even better.

Just FYI, you can buy consoles and accessories directly from the PSN site. The site that you need to go to to make an account to play your Soyny games on Steam.
