Meridia Supercolony is hilariously hard, and I love it
we were never supposed to come out of these missions alive. Anyone diving is basically a sacrifice

if you are complaining about the difficulty, you are questioning your orders Helldiver.

Such is treason, now get out there and dive.

Its confirmed it is a bug. Not a terminid, but a real programming bug, they are fixing it.

whoever gave me a jester probably sucks at the game. try a lower difficulty if its too hard for you. I completed a 6 no problem

There is a bug currently causing Bug Breaches to spawn on or close to the Antimatter drill when starting it (after depositing the antimatter backpack). Due to the drill taking friendly-fire damage, it means that bugs being too close or right on the drill often ensures its destruction, as well as it taking fatal damage merely from a Bile Titan coming out of the ground beneath it. That was unintended on AH's part and artificially increases the difficultly of the mission (as there really isn't any counterplay to immediate destruction from an unlucky Breach spawn), and they are working on a hotfix for it currently

fair. but this mission is not supposed to be easy. people are complaining about 'we wont make this Major order *cri*' like we are entitled to win every war and not earn it through blood blood and blood.

High Command has actually stated that the bug holes are coming out of locations not originally expected and our Super Earth scientists are finding ways to address it. I guess all our evacuate the scientists missions are finally paying off?

As for not being able to beat it. It's beatable. I'm still 3 for 3 on it running with 2-3 pugs average.

The fact that most steam threads involve people whining about it's difficulty says more about the skill caliber of the loud minority than the actual difficulty itself imo since I've seen more randoms clear it than people whining in the thread about it at the moment. The only valid complaint thus far that I've seen is the bugs holes spawning on top of drills but again, hasn't stopped randoms from completing and extracting still, at least not the ones I run with and I've had level 30s in my group.

While a fix is underway, it is by no means unbeatable.

By the way, I see people talking about "spawn near the objective = bug" but is the Meridia's progression bar also bugged? Whenever I finished a mission there, I don't see an update on the status of the progression.
The usual "good, you finished x missions, you obtained x points towards the liberation of the planet" is still here... but the % of the progression bar isn't there. Did I missed something? Did they remove the %? Or maybe is it because we're not looking to liberate Meridia (destroying the planet = not liberating it after all)?

yes. using different strats then the norm or 'meta'. I think its great that different tools are useful in different scenarios. this scenario is highlighting some interesting uses of non-meta strats

The first time tried we extracted 50% of the team and the second time 100% of the team. Granted I read about it prior so knew to go prone at extract to avoid the shriekers and have the ems mortar, ems strike and stun grenades going even at extract for the non flying stuff. It's like anything that seems impossible until someone does it then you learn from it and it becomes second nature.

The new mission isn't too difficult since I managed to succeed in completing it with one death on Helldive on the first attempt.

However that doesn't mean it wasn't annoying with the constant Breach spamming with most of the spamming happening no less than a few meters from the drill and having to recall the drill some number of times over.

Doesn't mean it wasn't annoying either when it comes to managing to pull out the entire team and still getting one star due to the mission not functioning in the correct manner.

The mission may not be too difficult in my own experience - which as mentioned had been on Helldive - but that doesn't mean it isn't a sh*tty mission all around and lacking in good fun on account of being annoying in the above written regards.

Wondering where you guys found the info on "we were never supposed to come out of these missions alive". It's the third time I see some chant about lose and dieying from a clearly programming error/lack of tests. It's a form of flex? Weird one.
