reload team question
does anyone actively make a point of using the fire/reload team that some weapons offer? where one dude reloads so that the other can shoot more rounds out?

I find it so difficult todo unless im with someone on comms cause of how the bugs get up to you so fast and the bots seemingly shoot you out of the team stance so easily.

I wish you could only exit the stance by pressing the keybind that puts you in it so that if the person you are reloading for does a 180 and runs and full sprint to reposition, that you stayed next to him the whole time just ready for whenever he needs to shoot instead of un-tethering you from him if he moves to fast.

I also wish that weapons hit harder with a damage boost when used in tandem to insentivize more teams todo it, like for example the recoiless rifle does sometimes kill a charger in one hit but ive found that it more consistently takes 2-3 shots if not more but if you went in tandem mode that if it hit harder you could knock a pack of chargers out quicker and more reliably?

I guess these arent great ideas to improve the features usability I just wish there was more reason todo it aside from a cool factor which like 9/10 gets you killed

I think more people would go for it if two changes were implemented:

1: The loading can be done regardless of who is carrying the backpack
2: The loader can use their secondary in between reloads to cover the shooter.

As it currently stands the reason nobody goes for it is because it's basically "Be my pack mule peasant!" in a nutshell.

i genuinely think you should be able to reload a teammate with their own backpack, would incentivise teamwork and paying attention to your teammates without commiting to the boring "backpack guy" task.

Maybe you noticed your teammate just shot down a bile titan and a second one is aproaching so you would want to asist them, normally you cant because nobody carries a backpack for a weapon you dont use

this also makes people not want to team reload because they want to carry their own backpack so players dont lose all their ammo if their teammate splits

Recoilless team reload is essential on 9s. There is no faster way to take out BTs consistently. Especially several at once.
I haven't really experienced any real issues with the mechanic. You're soft tethered to the person you're reloading but either one of you can just f*ck off with no issue. Also, Recoilless Rifles should only take one hit to a charger's face, but the hurtbox is a bit wonky.

I've also helped reload many players in which we just demolished things. An autocannon on full auto blasting away as I rapidly reload. A recoilless rifle taking down multiple chargers and titans in quick succession.

If there's any changes I'd like to see, maybe it'd be that other people can help reload from the shooter's own backpack. This way it'd be easier to coordinate with random players, and it'd prevent mentally ill people from freaking out when you take their backpacks to help out.

Pretty much this. Nobody bothers with assisted reload because the system is terribly designed. It requires high levels of communication which don't exist in public lobbies, it handicaps both players' loadouts and it leads to "gear stealing".

The two presented changes (and even just change #1) would make the mechanic far more approachable and likely lead to it being used far more frequently in public lobbies.

I used to .
Then they chose to never fix the QOL.
(Left it as is, instead of letting me reload them from THEIR OWN backpack)

Also the devs cannot play their own game above difficulty 5.
So......Meh
