Maybe clarification of this matter would be a good topic for the Podcast that the new CEO was suggesting.
They may simply not have tested multiple mechs and just don't know either way.
Given recent events, it is prudent for them to be careful about allowing things that haven't been fully tested, even if it is most likely fine.
Better to set expectations low and have a pleasant surprise than set them high and end up disappointed when an unknown issue springs up and it has to be taken away.
