Thinking of Buying... Should I?
I've followed a bit of the whole controversy about this game over the past little while and I'm kind of conflicted about this game. It looks really fun, but should I even bother buying this game, or simply avoid it all together???

Current players, I'd appreciate your input: is it even worth it to become a new player? Will it get better? Has ANYTHING been done to fix any of the sony controversies I heard about??

I wanna shoot bugs like a good little starship trooper, but if it's not worth $50 (canada), then maybe i'll just pass. :(

If you have friends to play it - sure

Playing with randoms can be a mixed experience

Playing alone is making things for difficult for yourself

There's supposedly some good updates in the works right now but it'll take a while

Sony didn't go ahead with their nefarious schemes just yet to force you make an account so it's still optional for now

You could always refund if you didn't like it in the first 2 hours

If you wanna shoot bugs, you'll love this game
Don't get bogged down in forum rants
If it's available in your region, and you like what you see, it does exactly what it says on the tin

Its still a good game but the devs are making every worst possible decision they can since launch.

If you have the option to buy it, go for it. It is a good game. But there are some caveats though, which I'll mention in bullet points down:

  • If you intend to challenge it solo, do know that after their recent patch they messed up the spawns again (which was actually working just fine before) making it that the fewer players there are in a team the harder it is due to the spawn not scaling properly to take into account the fewer players.
  • Overtime they've nerfed guns to the point that they're not fun to play. But at the same time gives buffs to enemies. One of the earlier guns that got nerfed wrongfully due to a bug causing it to 1/2 hit kill Bile titans the Railgun is one example.
  • Best played with friends as communication is key to a successful mission especially the higher Difficulties. Lower like Diff 1-4, not so much but by Diff 5 and above it helps to communicate efficiently. Sometimes you get randoms that work just fine without Comms the ingame emotes works just as well.

Well, someone needs to support servers for next few months, so YES BUY IT.

I haven't played it in a little while due to other games getting updates.

That being said, I really did enjoy my time with the game.
I play with Randoms a lot and only have had a few bad experiences on difficulty 7-9.

Most of the time I'm just listening to music and slaying enemies!

People will be vocal about nerfs to weapons, but in all honesty there are plenty of weapons that work just fine and give a good experience. Find a few you like and try out others!

Avoid it for now, devs don't even know what they are doing.

It's been less fun last few days. More toxic on the highest difficulty.

Dunno if that's on every level but it makes me want to play less.

I played since day1, have 200+ hours in the game, and still having fun. Here are my experiences so far:

I upgraded my rig recently, but I bought the game before the new PC arrived, so played a lot on a lower end PC. this forced me to play on lower difficulties and do solo runs for a lot of missions due to performance issues.

Playing solo can be a ton of fun and will challenge you greatly. It will also teach you to be cautious when approaching a fight, instead of just throwing in every strat with big explosions and going in guns blazing. this will also make you a more reliable player in team missions.

Currently I only play on diff 8 and 9. I have a couple friends that play but our schedules rarely line up, so I often play with randoms, and I have to say, my experiences with the community so far were great. more experienced players are generally bros and don't sweat the occasional friendly fire.
A lot of people say that communication is a must on higher levels, but I didn't see much difference when I play with my friends with voice chat on discord compared to when I play with randoms and noone is speaking. But there is an option to do push to talk, and I sometimes join games where everyone but me is constantly speaking.
As long as you know what you're doing and try to be a team player, you don't really have to talk. Ping where you're going, stick to your team, mark priority targets, and bring strats that benefit the team, and you're golden. I say that as playing with randoms 90% of the time.

People on these forums will whine about a lot of things, from nerfs to dropping player numbers, and underwhelming warbonds... best not take them too seriously. it's a game for $40. I you get a 100 hours of fun out of it, then it's more than worth the price, and it's still in the early stages of its life cycle.
A new enemy faction is coming soon, and they hinted at an upcoming balance patch that will address some of the overzealous nerfs and weak warbonds we got recently.

My verdict: It's a fun game that's well worth its price. The playerbase is good, and the play experience is still evolving. Just don't buy supercredits! You'll find plenty just by playing the game, especially if you're playing with a team.

only thing to take from this is yeah its a 40€ game. So yeah even if you drop this game after 40hours or so it might been worth it. But its a fact this game got worse with every Update so far. We never had a update where we could agree on it was good.....
Every patch: Nerf, new Bug, Old bug, enemy gets more annoying... here some buffs so you cant whine so much (but shhhh this aint huge buffs just enough so we will defend this game)
