Bots way too strong!
Tody I played with a friend of mine who is new to the game, so we startet bots at level 3 on Vandalon 5. I encountered two tanks at the same spot as well as way too many patrols. They need to make them that they cant call in infinite dropships.

For me, bug is much easier than bots at higher difficulties, I guess everyone had difference experienced, I guess for me because bug can't shoot back very well, very few bug able to shoot range, and it's easier to get out of way from bug range attack, but bots ,not so much, too many red bullet and gun. I do find bug easier to deal with than autobots.
I think bots have a much steeper learning curve. I'm still not great at them but that's because I'm too busy squishing bugs. Bugs are easy to understand. Can you shoot? Then shoot the bug before it gets close; simple.

With bots you have to use cover, and be mindful of reinforcements. If there's no current bot drop, you have to shoot the tiny robots first because they're the only ones that can signal reinforcements. As others have said, you can down dropships, but also could just use a big offense stratagem where they deploy the bots. You might also want to consider stratagems you wouldn't use against bugs, like the different types of shield stratagems, and use weapons with more armor penetraton. Autocannon works great for 1-tapping scout walkers from the front.

gamemaster probably ♥♥♥♥♥♥ you (ai that can change how your game goes like spawning things that normally wouldnt spawn)

bugs are easier than bots. bugs cant shoot.

Easier or harder is not a great way to look at it. Different playstyles. Notably however bugs reward improvisation better in part as they can at the worst of times be characterised with endless swarm. So a new player not knowing whats going on will inherently perform better against bugs. Bots on the other hand can be more judiciously planned around. Its more feasible to stealth into and around the bots, more possible to prevent new call down, way easier to run away and drop pursuit, exploit rear weak points with help from bait (friend). On the flip side mistakes are more intensely punished. 1 flare bringing in 3 drop ships, single rocket guys or devastators wrecking your whole day, guns. The need to think and plan more makes them far more rewarding and easier to handle... for me. Where as bugs just never let up.

OK, buddy. Tell that to the green Bile Spewers, their little babies and the Bile Titans cause they clearly didn't get the memo.

it seems as though shields are pretty well required to fight against bots, way to easy to take stray rounds.

It's the opposite.

Shields are mandatory for bugs because they actually run faster than you and have CC.

Bots are LOL EZ MODE because you can literally just run away or take cover from everything in the game. Plus every bot except the Tank can be one-shot in a weakspot from the front. You have to be really, really bad at first-person shooters to think that bots are harder than bugs.

Sorry but I can not ignore that comment, I love watching bug WALK UP TO ME when I'm fully undetected 50 yards away not in a patrol. Oh yeah don't shoot they won't see you, nonsense, the detection range of the AI is either impossibly dumb or hyper aware of all things, like every other bad game on the market.

My thoughts exactly.

Have to say after 90+ h playtime that yes, bots are definitely harder.

Yes they are also different.
- Bugs are more annoying with their constantly swarming reinforcements and that every bug (except charger and titan and fat boys) can instantly howl for reinforcements and there is barely any chance to stop them.
- Their constant slow attacks are annoying
- But they are easy to deal with, they usually die by 1-2 shots and armored enemies like chargers are also easy to kill with anti armor weapons
- Stealth is almost impossible against them. Even if you pick stealth armor anc crouch and prone, they will always "magically" beeline your position.

- Bots are less annoying in reinforcements. Only 1 enemy type can call them and you can still shoot down the dropships mid air to stop them,
- But they are much harder to fight against. Every enemy above the regular T-800 trooper is a bullet sponge.
- Many enemies take either a railgun or 2 people to kill by getting into their back.
- Some enemies have a oneshot potential on you by sniping you down with rockets from places you can't even see them.
- Objectives are harder to deal with with all the mortars and cannon turrets.
- Stealth at least is an option against them. They don't have the same X-ray vision gps tracker what bugs have

In my experience bot missions on the same level as bug missions feel at least +2 levels harder.

To me they are easier to avoid, you can tell they shooting green, stuff, Bile Titans is so big, that easy to ran around hide from big rock while using 500kg bomb or rail or laster from your destoryer, but those large tank, they are very deadly, shoot fast, shoot far, so go on, you can't outran from gun, but you can outran melee or short range or slow range attack like bug. I just use breaker for faster sneaking smaller bug to take it out if that in case, one of those jump thing or hide in shadow thing.

I rather deal with bile titan than that giant tank.

It's the speed at which then fire as soon as a palyer lands really. And how accurate they are with the rockets. The fact armor isn't working correctly also factors in.

Mostly it's an armor issue.
try shooting them
Not gonna lie, I had a TON of trouble with these same enemies until I tried this strat. This is probably the end-all, be-all strategy for most of the robot missions in the game.
