They can't nerf the breaker and the rail gun without breaking the game.

Until they eliminate the need for the back slot to be used for the shield pack in diff 7-9, the breaker and rail gun cannot be nerfed.

Not having a shield in diff 7-9 is a death sentence with the number of stalkers and hunters that are spawned in those difficulties.

Hunters cannot be controlled, because they can jump directly to the target, apply slow, and do a fast three hit attack that kills.

Stalkers tongue attack can one shot you without a shield, and you don't always see them coming.

Nerfing the rail gun leaves us the EAT for non back slot anti armor, but does not make any of the back pack team weapons viable due to the shield requirement, and obvious vulnerability of the two immobile players trying to deal with the armor while hunters are jumping in there face. Not to mention the fact that the total damage available in the entire ammo pack of a team anti armor weapon isn't enough to deal with all the heavies that are thrown at you at higher difficulties.

If the breaker and the rail gun are both nerfed, there is no way to kit out to clear hordes and deal with armor while maintaining survivability. Without the horde clear of the breaker you must take a calldown weapon to clear hordes.

So, no EAT.

Unless they balance the enemy spawns to remove the shield requirement the breaker and railgun cannot be nerfed.

It would be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I kind of was talking about this yesterday about how people who only run the Railgun also run Shield BP because they didn't know that trash clear support weapons are necessary.

Bring a Grenade Launcher, or an HMG or Stalwart if you're feeling fresh. It's a life changing experience.
The only reason Shield Backpack is useful is because teams primarily run railgun and therefore can't deal with the snowball of small bugs, or the one grenade launcher guy seemingly dumped all his ammo in a charger (don't do that).


Sure, Rail gun is the solo meta if you don't have a team to help you. But this is a team game, and it is far from the team meta if everyone runs it. It's powerful, but it can't do certain things, and/or does other things inefficiently.

EDIT: Oh I was also gonna add, bring the Slugger. It makes Stalkers a non-threat. They die in one headshot to it and the Slugger has something very powerful other weapons do not often, stagger. It is a guaranteed stagger on hit.
Sure, breaker is good, but once again it's the case of not even attempting to try something new. There are weapons I like far more than the breaker.

the shield backpack is a crutch that doesnt actually help you deal with problems. if youre not getting hit and you shouldnt be, then it doesnt do anything. the laser backpack actively clears enemies while you do anything else which makes it way better for bugs cuz you can kill things while moving.

Yes, because the average player has the skills of someone streaming for a living.

Not everyone has (or wants!) the time necessary to no life this game to the point where they "can" clear Hard and above without a decent load out.

And the people on here giving us the "I solo HellDive with nothing but the starter pistol and btw my dad works at Arrowhead" are about as cringe as it gets, with hundreds of hours in-game in just a couple of weeks. No thanks.
