Region lock China?

Their culture doesn’t take gaming seriously ( which would be fine it’s a hobby) but it also comes with the idea of squeezing any advantage you can, that includes cheating.

They don’t care that it’s other people on the other end of the screen.
I seen games like bf1, bf5 etc that totally crumbled under Chinese cheaters and I don’t want helldivers to share the same fate.

I only met 4 blatant cheaters so far and they were all from there.

Wouldn’t it be reasonable to region lock that 1 country?

The rampant cheating and acceptance of cheating by Chinese players is not limited to gaming, and it's not some inherent part of having Chinese DNA or anything, it's the result of billions of people who had until the last 15-20 years been living below the poverty line suddenly being speed-ran up to modern living and working standards. You have billions of people who were raised with that cut-throat mindset you see in people who were raised by or lived through abject poverty. Right or wrong, ethical or unethical are not considerations, only capturing and vouchsafing resources at all costs since you never know when it might be lost or taken away.

this is pretty prejudiced and you dont even realize it. theres nothing wrong with chinese people, you say, just their entire culture and mindset and so on.

Yeah, the ARK servers just destroyed themselves with Chinese cheaters who spoke only chinese all by themselves with no actual input from Chinese people.

If sanding the wrinkles out of ones brain required a degree, you'd be a PhD. Either that or you just missed the Reading Comprehension portion of Literally All Of School since you apparently missed the whole thing I said about ARK.

The only course that way seems like blocking cheaters you encounter, but that's a tedious process and you still encounter them.

Oh you can block out all nearly all VPN IP-ranges, or at least 99.9% of all the public ones. But then no legit users can use VPN, and for some a VPN is actually useful for some people that doesn't have the best connection, they can get a significantly better connection through a VPN without get dropped so much. Those people wont be able to enjoy the game anymore. Meanwhile dedicated cheaters can still acquire more expensive private VPN IP's that is yet to be detected as VPN's, so you still won't stop them. Some may also utilize bot networks through malware and hacking to connect to real residential IP's. Although that may be a smaller range of the cheaters that does something like that as it requires more knowhow and dedication than your average cheater. But in a scenario where VPN's have been fully banned such bot networks may see a rising demand to provide a service to cheaters that previously would use VPN's.

No, VPN's are not illegal in China. They are "just" heavily regulated. You cannot anonymously talk ill of great leader or glorious red ideology without being detected. They know who you are. But use a VPN to cheat in western game? They don't give AF. But maybe they'll give some F's about the amount of hours spent on gaming, as too much gaming corrupts the mind and deviates from the glorious goal of the collective minds working productively for the benefit of the Party ☭

If blocking cheaters means you wont be paired with them I think that can work a little bit, temporarily at least, but nothing significant and certainly not long term; and yes tedious busy work that needs to be maintained.

Every single game with mutliplayer should region lock china by default.

It's like this in every single game and the fact most games don't do it by default is always shocking to me.

Or rather, the VPNs are very wide spread and most computer literate chinese have one.

I have teamed up with a lot of Chinese folks. They just want to play same as us. Some of them were nice, some were idiots. Not all cheaters are Chinese, not all Chinese people cheat in games.

I personaly dont believe its discrimination. The OP just cares about the game long term. China has many issues besides cheaters. Personaly I dont like the idea to play with a country where people get treated like animals in "camps" because their muslims. Now its easy to say that the general chinese person has nothing to do with it, but as a german I can say..... it isnt so simple. Not trying to bring politics into gaming, I´d rather they stay as far away from gaming as possible, politics I mean, but I can realte to someone having issues there.

Region lock would help but in the same way the AC does. Not that much. It will just be circumvented aswell.
