Stratagems with controller?

Figured out about mapping it to the arrow keys for KB/M, however sometimes I like to play games with a controller and so tried with this. Seems controller has the same issue of not being able to move while keying in strategems since both use your left thumb; any other comfortable binds to swap them to have people found?

For what ever reason you can't run forward but running sideways works just fine on gamepad so yea it's pretty annoying

I'm not sure how but after I tried different stratagem keybinds, that eventually got fixed somehow, even when I put them back to the defaults.

Play "claw".
I reach over with my right thumb and push the dpad buttons so I can use the analog to move.

Something is wrong with your controller set up. I can absolutely run forward while calling a stratagem. Any direction works.

I use my right thumb to handle movement while I input strats

Something is wrong with your controller set up. I can absolutely run forward while calling a stratagem. Any direction works.

Um no it's the exact same for both of my gamepads and the same for my friends on PS5 they can't run forward and have to run to the side when using the Stratagems plus it's default controls and moving forward works normally but not when using stratagems.

It literally isn't. Do you want a video or something? I run forward all the time and the people I know playing on PS5 have never said a word about only being able to strafe left or right.

I haven't heard of "the claw" since playing Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on the PSP.... I hope we don't have to regress to that again.

But it is why would I lie about such a thing I've tried both a PS5 controller and a switch gamepad controller and every single person I know on PS5 have the same problem which is 8 people and if you don't have a problem good for you but your not everyone are you.
It's just another bug that happens for people.

It's not about lying. It's that apparently 9 of you have something really weird going on that maybe you can fix so you can enjoy the game more. You can definitely run forward with the stratagems open.

I know you can I'm saying I can't because it's a bug lol there's a fix but it has to be replayed every time you open the game & every time there's a DC so it's annoying

It's just another bug that happens for people.

if i remember correcly you need to rebind stratagem up to left stick up and then rebind both move forward and stragem up to their usual button and it should fix the issue

That's the fix I'm talking about but sadly for me it keeps reverting every time i open the game or DC or get a kick or change any setting in the game it's very annoying.

I use an Xbox Pro controller on PC. I remap the rear paddles on my right middle and ring fingers. One rear paddle is 'Y' so I can weapon switch without taking my thumb off the right analog stick. The other rear paddle is mapped to 'L-Stick Forward.' That way, I can keep running while I key in strategems with my left thumb. Highly recommend this configuration for pro controller users.
