How did you learn about Comms and Drop wheels?
I'm playing on PC with keyboard & mouse.
I made it to level 20 before I realized there's a Comms wheel (long-press Q), mark function (Q), and Drop wheel (C).

I generally don't explore the key bindings on a new game unless I have trouble with the defaults, and since these functions aren't covered in the tutorial, I didn't even know they existed until I saw a video talking about intentionally dropping items.

I wish they'd covered that at some point in the tutorial, just to make new players aware they exist.

I have another one for that:
Pressing 5 with the resupply backpack equipped lets you resupply yourself - sole reason I figured that out is because I accidentially pressed 4 and figured out that you can hold grenades, which made me curious what 5 does - if I hadn't had it equipped at that time I'd be oblivious to it until today.
For Q: Figured that out by holding it a tiny bit too long.
For C: Figured that one out by fat fingering honestly.

Oh yeah, I used the resupply backpack for a number of missions last week without realizing I could hit 5 to resupply myself. But I saw a video where someone mentioned it a few days ago. I'll have to give it a try.

Yeah, I definitely saw a wheel pop up when I fat fingered something. Not sure which it was, but I think that's when I did go into the key bindings and saw the Comms wheel. I didn't mess around with it until I started doing solo missions two days ago though.

It was the Drop wheel I didn't know anything about until I saw a video, even after reviewing the key bindings.

The first thing i do whenever i play a game is open the keybind menu and take a look. So within 10 minutes of playing

The tutorial and button prompts for this game sucks.

I think the problem lays in the fact that the videos showcasing equipment are heavily misleading.
You instantly think that a gun like the Autocannon MUST be supplied by a teammate and cant be used by yourself, but you can just solo it no problem.

And since you can equip your own ammo from a backpack for backpack guns like the Autocannon or Rocketlauncher, it seemed clear that the supply backpack works the same.
But to get to that conclusion, you first need to find out the other things that arent explained anywhere.
I ignored the backback weapons until i watched a youtube video about a different topic, where i saw that people were using the Autocannon solo.

Right now, im running the Supply Backpack build.
Its fun going with the Knight and Railgun or Materiel Rifle. I can just give support to my teammates by either clearing heavies (railgun) or snipe medium armored enemies (Materiel Rifle).
Knight is a good cleaner for infantry or onslaughts (have done some true Max Payne moves yesterday as you can use it well to jump and shoot at the same time).
All i hope for now is silenced ammo/weapons.

So stick with it, its fun and viable. Even though i have to admit that Extreme and Helldivers with the Bugs it lacks a bit of usability and i tend to pick the Machinegun more.

There's also G for Respawn Teammate, used that one many times by mistake while trying to emote

They could definitely include more info on the overview pages for strategems. I also avoided the autocannon because I assumed you needed two people to operate it based on the the explanation and video.

One of my random squad mates tried to get me take their extra ballistic-shield backpack, but I couldn't figure out how to operate it, so I didn't bother. Another thing I had to look up, but it was already too late because by that time I could buy the actual shield backback.

Before I even heard General Brasch speak, actually. I expected it to be mentioned in the tutorial, but it wasn't.

I've found that many games fail to mention a number of handy functions, and bind some others to keys that I find distasteful for them. This has lead to me checking the Keybinds menu as soon as a game lets me, every time.
i learned it first day cause my first focus in any game is to have very personalized keybinds. i told a buddy that was level 40 the drop function for the first time, tho lmao

Well call me old fashioned but the first thing I always do when starting a new game is takea glance at the controls to see if I need to change anything. Same with graphics. For instance, in 99% of games that boast ray tracing, usually you have to turn it off because Ray Tracing never ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ works.

I second graphics tweaking right away, but i never bother with controls until something is really off to me, because i feel like control menus are ever hidden and obstructed and i dont know why they are burrying the options menues inside other menus so much.

I had a game where you had to enter the general options, then click on controls, then click on keyboard and mouse, then click on button layout and then click on customize keybinds.
Like dude, are you the most ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupidest game developer on the world or why are you hiding such a basic standard function behind 5 submenus (overloaded with other stuff btw, so its hard to spot too)?
Also hate when games are noting ESC as default menu opener ingame but something like F10 or having to click a button.

Its the same with graphics options.
Like...guys, why are you constantly separating display and graphics options and then also hide graphics options under "advanced"?
Are you hiding it because you dont want people to mess around as you think they are too stupid to know how it works?
Its annoying and thats why many dont bother anymore.

I found a good game is instantly noticeable by a good menu.
If the main menu is good and the options menu great, the game tends to be great too.
