Randoms Joining my ship
Is it normal for people to be able to join my ship without my permission? Just wanted to confirm.

Yes, you can turn public matchmaking off in the settings

If your lobby is open in the game settings and you have initiated a mission, randoms can join.

If there is no mission queued up, or your lobby is set to friends only, they cannot

Yeah, That is what match making in this game do..."

When you select a mission, Its will open your lobby for anyone to join... Just go to option and put the match making to Friends only. Still people in your friend list still can join you tho xD

If you want to do thing around your ship alone, Just don't select any mission yet. :D

it happened to me just once, I had no mission on me and I had no friends own the game, it was when we weren't able to login because of servers capacity, a guy joined me and said sorry I needed to get past the queue screen, I appreciate you, and just left.

When the servers were at capacity, you could bypass the capacity queue if you found someone who is logged into the game and press "join game" from their steam profile. He likely found you from a recent post on here and used it to join your game.

I know right? No one answers my SOSs but they crowd my ship when I'm trying on armor, er tactical maximizing my equipment.

change your matchmaking settings to friends only in settings
