Add Player Punishment for constant team kills or remove it all together.
I love this game but the only problem is that there are some toxic players that want to ruin it for others, They purposely use weapons like the arc gun to kill us and other things.

Please add player punishment for being toxic

Have to agree. There needs to be something in place.

While most players do their best to avoid TK's, and while some TKs are indeed the victims fault(they run in after you've just said in voice "I'm dropping a 500lb bomb, get out now!"), there are a few players that think TK's are funny and they revel in making misery for others via TK'ing. If you've played any game with FF on, you know there are those griefers that take delight in TK'ing and griefing others.

I'd go for the option to kick. Nothing automatic. Perhaps after 3 or 5 TKs, the victim(s) receive an option to kick. Whoever has been TK'd by the offender 3 or 5 times gets a pop up option to kick once the threshold is met. A simple "YES/NO" pop up. If the player options for "NO", there aren't repeated pop ups, but the player can still access the kick option via ESC then clicking on Player's name in Squad HUD.

That'd be stupid.
1. Most airstrike related teamkills are victim's fault. I dont have many tks but maybe lik 2-3 were actually my fault
2. It's a 4 player casuel coop game. Not esport title

They could take the "Traitor to the Federation" mechanic from the Starship Troopers game. If someone kills too many teammates they're branded a traitor and get a marker above their head, and cannot hurt teammates anymore. If another player kills the traitor the traitor is booted.

The Dev's could also make their own approach to it and make it similar to going out of bounds. Kill too many teammates and you are branded a traitor, so the support ship starts raining artillery down on the traitor and when they die they're booted.

Not stupid at all. In fact I can't think of any games that I've played that have FF on that don't have some feature to kick or punish those that have a lot of TKs on any given match or mission. And as I've stated previously, there are those players that think TK'ing is hilarious and they take great pleasure in ruining other players gaming experience via TK's.

Something needs to be done.

The first point here is actually a really good arguement. Team killing is really easy to accidentally do with call-ins. Maybe it would have to be limited to gun kills only if the Dev's were to implement something like this.

IMO there simply needs to be a threshold. Say 5 TKs. Once the threshold is met the victim(s) receive an option to kick the offender.

Of course we all know some TKs are pure accidental and some are the victims fault. That still doesn't change the fact that there are a few players in any game with FF on that take great pleasure in griefing others via TKs.

No, just no...
♥♥♥♥ happens, lack of awareness, bad luck, chaos ...etc.
At that point, if someone purposefully TKs continuously, its the host's responsability to kick him. If the host IS the problem, just leave the mission and start another/host yourself.

Mitigating friendly fire/kills will remove that most important aspect of the game imo.

Given how easily some of you get salty over accidents, I think this is a terrible idea.

Just embrace the chaos, or host your own games so you can kick on your own.

accidental teamkills are half the fun
Sam Smith Mar 3, 2024 @ 3:12pm
it should have a forgiveness feature, if a player kills you you get an option to forgive him, if he purposely team kills then you don't forgive him which should limit his use of orbital weapons and team kills this giving him less exp and rewards on completion of a mission.
WaffleCopter Mar 3, 2024 @ 3:13pm
this is a non issue atm. ive come across only 1 teamkiller so far. thats literally it.

Thing is, that "traitor artillery" is innaccurate AF. People use this to "cheese" maps sometimes, gets branded a traitor, and start running around the map while artillery shoots randomly around. If it was enabled when TKing too much, trust me, those "griefers" would love it. TK, get artillery going, run around your teammates and watch them get destroyed.
host your own game, now you can boot up anyone that you don't like and also nobody can kick you

"Friendly fire is an unavoidable fact of life. Nothing at all you can do to prevent it." - General Brasch.

I think it would really screw up the balance of the game to entirely remove friendly fire all because a handful of people decide to grief or a different handful of people can't handle being accidentally killed.

I would say if you REALLY want some control over this kind of thing, host your own games and just kick any bad actors.
