Friendly fire in this game is a bit too much especially with new players.
I know its something everyone has to get used to but if i use drones or turrets it seems to always get friendlies killed or at least hurt. I have a had a few games where players think im in control of my drone and thus call down air strikes on top of me as payback for whatever may have happened. Is there something im missing in my build i should get to reduce the amount im causing to others or they are causing to me?

Toss them a rover too.

Let's Play!

Drones are tricky for sure, I try to circle around and try to avoid crossfire or letting others run in front of me.

For sentries, it's more about placement, try to go high so it shoots over their heads, or low where people won't be running. Doesn't really work for Mortars, just gotta hope they hear you call it out on mic that you've put one down so they'll run from enemies.

Don't shoot people, learn to position yourself and your stratagems, and thats it.

Otherwise, friendly fire happens. Try to leave the newer players behind and climb up the ranks and difficulties, and most people seem to be chill about accidental friendly fire.

If you throw down a 380 mm barrage during a defend objective people might think otherwise, of course. :P

they will eventually learn not to run in crossfire weather from bullets or drones, Dont blame yourself & if there dying from your rover there standing in the beam for at least 3 seconds so there kind of being :shit:

Friendly fire is nothing compared to the 1st game. Ff is the main core of this game. You cant tone it down.

There was a thread suggesting the ability to hit 5 to put the drone away and I honestly think of the ways to alleviate the problem, that would be the simplest and better option.
When I'm using a dog I do my best to not crossfire as well but sometimes the dog will just spin with the laser on and either headshot me or hit my friend.
I don't mind it being that stupid it's a drone. I do mind having zero control over it when it's a drone.

When you drop a turret, ping it with "Q" so it highlights it for your team mates. Now it's on them.

This is an absolutely idiotic thing to do on their part.

If people are shooting you because of your drone, kick them or leave. They are far too stupid and vindictive to bother playing with.

The proper response for most friendly fire is laughter, not apoplectic screaming.

When doing extraction I will drop a minigun turret on or near the pad, I will sometimes type in chat "Minigun turret up, keep your head down." I do this because I see players running around like they aren't in danger. You would be surprised how many players will start ducking.

PS; I never played the original, I have been Friendly Fired a few times. My main strat is to stay mobile and make sure to move away from stratagem drops. With turrets I tend to stay low and near them. If mortars on the field I move a lot and kill anything near me.

ya its just one of those things i think people have to figure out still I honestly wish this game had a friendly fire turned off phase so the game could properly instruct you on when you couldve killed someone and what to avoid going forward when its turned on.

To some degree, it's your teammates fault they keep getting killed. If they know there's a turret there and still run in front of it they're just asking to die. Same with mortars, if you know there's a mortar down stay tf away from enemies and you won't die, when leaving the area ensure you destroy it so it doesn't continue to drop shells near you.
On the subject of Guard dogs, just spread out a bit more and ensure you're facing the enemy with nobody in front of you.
