This community is kinda cringe

I know this game launched with the intent of having a generally relaxed and fun loving community like Deep Rock Galactic, but it's a lot more like a PvP game. There is now a firm bastion of meta warriors that refuse to work with anyone that do not affiliate with their creed. An even larger portion of the community refuse to commune with anyone at all, not setting their game to private and kicking anyone that joins their missions at the first chance. There is even a party of bandits and marauders that seek the destroy any that dare to pick up samples or Medals all of which are shared across the whole team, even Lvl 30+. And at the most base and vile there is the murders that destroy the community with wanton violence killing any players, especially newbs, for their own empty enjoyment.

It is what they HAVE been since they were created. If you expect anything else here, you are fooling yourself. Feel free to do so if you wish, but not all of us can/will.

All of the "groups" listed here are a tiny amount of players. I have played hundreds of missions and many helldives, and most players just play the game to have fun. I suggest not sitting in the forums and reading people's literature regarding what happens in the game here.

I think this is just the nature of any game that gets popular really quickly. You have a bunch of try hards who join and push the content aggressively, start raging when everyone isn't as good as them, and will move onto a new game in a month or so. I imagine the community will balance out pretty quickly - lfgs on the discord are pretty good.

Deep Rock did not created that community within a month of its release in EA.

Deep Rock has has also never had this big of a playerbase, and with big playerbase comes more toxicity from idiots coming in from other games.

It'll mellow out once all the Fortnite anc CoD kids have their fun of being toxic and move on to other stuff.

I've got 100.8 hours in the game and - so far - I haven't met anyone who's done anything negative at all. They've not killed people deliberately, kicked people, said anything nasty to anyone ... Nothing like that.

I play either with friends that I've met by adding people on social when I've joined their game or they joined mine - and - I also go and play random medium and help new players to high level matches to get progress all the time.

Either I've been ridiculously lucky playing over 100 hours or what you're saying isn't anywhere near as prevalent as you say it is. This "firm bastion of meta warriors" might exist more on this forum and in people's heads than it does in game.

This. Once the CoD streamers and stuff move on to another game you'll see it chill out. This game suffered in a way that's not the same as the first one because the first one wasn't a shooter.

K/D doesn't matter here. Kills don't even matter here. Farming technically doesn't even matter. PTFO matters. Getting killed in the funniest way possible matters. Having a good time matters. Comedy matters.

CoD streamer mentality doesn't align with that.

People kicks you out of DRG lobbies if you dare to miss 1 milimeter in the pump missions
also they kick you out if you can't do a bunker
you also had metatheorycrafting to get the most xp/gold per minute

Theres always a group of people that will meta theorise everything and get mad because you don't do it like everyone else, especially at the highest difficulty

if you are unhappy about it do it with your friends but no strangers, because you will in fact, be treated like a stranger
