So why are there currency caps anyway?
Seems to go against the pro consumer mindset that people love about this game's monetization and progression layout.

to stop you insta buying anything added I guess.
Got to get players coming back
Noxsa Mar 2, 2024 @ 4:01am
because the game is not finished and they "probably" want to keep people from instant getting the new stuff they will add OR the currency is not really set in stone and they plan or work on it, maybe they change it. so many things it can be.

personally i'm not cool with it too, i'm on 50k for ages now, but on the flip side i don't have anything to spend it on either for ages =D

Apparently the medal cap is 250, and considering later warbond unlocks are 100-150 each... And the devs have shown they will scramble to change the rules on events rewarding medals instead of req... (lucky me getting those 45 medals while other players seem ♥♥♥♥ out of luck, huh?)

oh darn, i'v not yet unlocked all medal stuff, had no idea it had a 250 cap, that seems a bit low to me, they really need to change that imo.

The REAL carnage will be if they discover there really is a cap on super credits instead of "Infinite, question mark?" because you would have to spend a lot of money to test, or grind longer the game has existed.

But it would be really funny if it was 4,000 capped, so that if you bought two $20 packs for 2,100 in a row you would lose 200. (I only splurged on one for later, so I won't have to dayjob the game whenever they come out with new costumes after having scrambled for my faves now. ESPECIALLY as higher difficulties sabotage points of interest to replace cargo crates with rubble a ton)

I suppose that the issue is progression. If you farm everything now you will not be able to enjoy progression later, which means that if they release new stuff then, and you could buy everything right away, you would not be involve in the game as you should and you will not enjoy the progression later, when stuff is released. Getting less involved means that you could get bored more quickly.

Yeah uncapped could run away from them pretty quickly, in turn causing inflation then the other side of the coin pipes up.

I could grind 4000 SC in a single day, probably would only take about 6-10 hours. If someone has been grinding since release they could easily have over 100k by now.

Because they don't want you to horde the points and then spend them all on the upcoming upgrades, and then you'll come back and cry about having nothing to unlock.

Considering you only get 10 credits per pile, why do people keep thinking proving my points about "Worse than a subscription MMO" is defending the game instead of making it look worse?"

(It honestly is better than most other games when it comes to what the fun money is used for, and alternatives to get it. but that does not make it the same as GOOD either. uuuugh at least make the costume shop a literal shop instead of a daily quest timer rotation )

pretty sure there is no cap in supercredits WHEN you bought them, THAT SAID though there could be a cap at where you are able to get the creds for free by farming ingame for it.

to force a grind whenever they add new content...its the one thing i genuinely hate about the progression...because whats the point of being excited for event rewards when you know its just going to get deleted...why? because the devs decided to cap and enforce an arbitrary, eternal grind...

nothing gets deleted, all the warbounds they add and have added will stay "so people keep telling me". so there is no need to pre-farm to get all in a short amount of time.
i do get the frustration with a cap, i have it too BUT this is more a CO-OP game, now imagine there is no cap, people get bored have tons of things, new stuff gets added and people instant unlock it all play a few games and get bored again, so there will be less people online to play and to co-op with. its a tricky issue game of this have and i would NOT be walking in the devs shoes.

The currency get deleted when you are capped. If you have 250 medals right now and win medals as a reward for the War objective, you get nothing. Those 45 medals you are supposed to win disappear.

To give future progression I wager. Though the caps are a bit weird, 50k requisition will unlock anything they ever add instantly anyway. The sample caps too. But with a cap of only 250 warbonds, yeah thats only enough for a single page of a new warbond they add.
