Game is fun. Balance is shockingly poor.
Constant spawns, homing patrols, and over used spawning of "elite" mobs does not make the game fun. It makes it absolutely terrible to play. What are the developers doing to sort this out?

Basic training covered everything that any helldiver will need to know.

Apply that knowledge citizen

If you need to repeat basic training that is ok. May do.

you are right about ballance being shockingly poor... but that has nothing to do with the mobs or spawns. those are surprisingly, fine. the internal weapon ballance though, is trash.
some weapons jsut work, some other just dont.

the trick is though to know when not to fight, and when to high tail it while dropping bombs behind you.

I'm glad to know you are happy to spew rubbish instead of anything remotely useful to the topic. Please continue wasting your time.

this would matter if they didn't leash, and i simply had chargers following me until i stopped to fight. why run? it'll just add to the pack. fight, and win, or fight, and die. stealth is so inconsistent it's not worth doing in a group. weapon balance is such trash, enemies spawn and then instantly call for more, who call for more, who call for more. scouts are supposed to wait before summoning reinforcements. that IS a mob/spawn issue. chargers spawning non-stop while the amount of weapons to deal with them effectively are ridiculously low is a mob/spawn issue.

Stealth is either godly, or pointless, no inbetween. If you try to stealth, or just have no aggro whatsoever, the game will just unashamedly direct patrols towards you, sometime even just straight up spawn them near you.

You can see this happen if you have the radar upgrade and see pods just pop into existence even though they are well within your radar range.

Weapon balance is a huge issue tho. Some weapons, like the breaker and Railgun just perform so much better than other Primary/Special weapons. All games with equipment with different stats will always have a meta, but not to this degree. But we don't need nerfs to them, we need buffs to everything else. The game can still be super difficult even when using these meta weapons, so to nerf them would just be asinine.

There is definitely something going on with the charger AI. Sometimes it just homes in on your butt no matter how you try to juke it with extreme powersteering, other times it acts like it lost cell signal and just kinda spaces out or gets stuck somewhere wacky. I wish it just behaved more consistently so I'll know whether or not I'm going to die based on what I do rather than which mood it decides to pick and reads my mind by tokyo drifting into me after I've dodged.

As for the game dropping patrols on you, I've had patrols spawn directly underneath me before, so there is that, yes.

Wanna bamboozle patrols? Wear Stealth armor, arm smoke nades and smoke strategems, those and using sound to distract patrols...
weirdee Mar 4, 2024 @ 9:11pm
Smoke is also a coin flip on whether or not it actually works. Sometimes the enemy AI just completely ignores smoke and pinpoints your location anyway. Same with sound distractions, enemy AI will most likely laser pinpoint your position regardless of whether or not you successfully broke line of sight either because your movement is supposedly as loud as firing a gun, or just because the game magically gives your position away to the enemy as soon as they hear or see anything happen. The only thing that seems to consistently work is just outright exiting their whole radius of influence entirely, but then the game switches back to magical patrol spawning based on alert level.

They have ramped spawns up to stupid lvls even in rank 6.

I think the spawn rates bug out on occasion.
Sometimes I'll do a mission that has only a couple chargers, then another mission on the exact same difficulty 5 chargers will spawn all at once from a bug breach.

Other than that though, I'd say it's mostly the armor bug, the lack of AP guns (medium ap is the most I've seen), and what should be the strongest strat weapons like auto-cannon being weak compared to the railgun could use some adjustment. (some buffs hopefully)

You can outrun chargers if you are able to use terrain to lose them. Much easier to do with light armor.

If there's a bug breach and there's nothing around to fight for, falling back while picking off the hunters (the only things that are going to keep up with you) is totally viable.

You get to pick most of your engagements.

It's both. Obviously the weapon balance is hilariously bad but also the elite spawns are frequently out of control.

For example there are way too many chargers on merely Challenging. Two days ago we had 10 chargers during the evac, it was insane. Also charger design itself is bad, its weakpoint is worthless since it requires multiple mag dumps to kill it if you shoot it in the back. You are pretty much forced to expose leg and shoot it there. This has to be balanced.

You can kill most "elite" mobs with a primary.

Gid gud.

When you learn that you don't have to fight every bug on the map, and breaking line of sight helps immensely, you will have finally graduated to tiers 7+

PS - developers are making the missions harder.
