I think this time, I'm just going to keep an eye on it to see if the progress gets reset again. I spent a good few missions on Veld and to see that just wiped away with no explanation was very demoralising. Would it really hurt the devs to add a little text update that the bugs did some super secret thing that's pushed the war effort back? That would be a little more satisfying than "Nope, because we feel like it lol."

its going to be knocked down again just you wait lol

If they push it down again with no explanation aside "its the planet %regen" I will only participate to the last day or 2 of future events. Any action before that is meaningless.

Joel won't stand for this display of democracy.

I mean. I got off of work and home like what, maybe a little under two hours ago. I think it was around 56ish percent then. At this rate we should have it in a few hours unless they knock it down.

Although, I would really watch Turing. It's at 90.9 but only has like 2166 on it atm according to my map. The percentage is not changing much at all though. Angel's Venture is also at around 86.1 too.

Lots to check if they drop em down

Why does it need to go down at all anyway? If they are worried about the event being over too soon they could have just slowed down progress or make it go back ever so slightly so we'd be like "oh no, we gotta try harder or they'll push us back" or something. Just setting the percentage back by 30% when no one is looking feels like such a weird way to deal with it.

At worst the event would have been over in a few hours, then just go with it and do better next time. By now pretty much everyone is aware that the war progress is fake and arbitrary.

We're trying to see if the drops were mostly just for initial reactions to the *unexpectedly* high volume of amount of people playing or is it going to be a consistent thing.

Im hoping with the drops they were just tweaking the ratios in consideration to how many people are playing and will now just let it run its course with maybe just a watchful eye.

Ya no.

It doesn't matter what you do or where you fight, your contribution is 0 because the decision to flip a planet or sector is for Joel and only Joel.

If he want's to flip it after 1 easy mission he will, if he doesn't want it flipped 10 million helldives will result in 0 progress.

Therefore there is no galactic war.

Some sort of communication on this would be nice. I just saw Turing is open again for no apparent reason - couldn't there at least be some sort of message or a history per planet so it doesn't feel so random?
Stand back marines, Let the chief show you how its done!

It needs flavor text to justify what's happening.

Also, FAILED missions could be used as a nice excuse to lower the percentage.

Failed missions actually do lower the War Effort. :P People are farming defense Mission on Bot Planets and they just abandon the operation after the defense and you can sometimes see the planet loose 10% over like 15 minutes.

This has been confirmed to be false, stop spreading false infos.

They dont count period, both in a positive nor in a negative way since the operation was not complete.

Something they mentioned when the planets were re-taken by bugs was something about subterranean strongholds ... any how on these planets you will see what look like 'steam vents' from a distance. Up close looks somewhat like a bug hole and lava pit. Toss a nade in there and move back and a pleasing undergound explosion will occur. Maybe this is part of what we need to REALLY push them off the planet.. worst case you use a few more nades.
The underground explosions do seem to chain between the steam vent holes ... does it matter , dont know, what do you think?
