That's why they have similarities.
I prefer that, genuinely, and if EDF6 hadn't been delayed I wouldn't even have bought this game yet. Helldivers has more western design goals with realistic weapons and a checklist of objectives rather than having the combat speak for itself (although the combat speaks very well!)
Deep Rock Galactic is a much closer comparison, or perhaps Helldivers sits somewhere between those.
